Very cool. It's amazing how people from all genres and all walks of life have been moved by Yauch's passing.

They should have totally done that cover album with Biz that they talked about doing on the Check Your Head commentary. I would have loved to hear Biz Markie singing "I Am Woman, Hear Me Roar".

the zane lowe thing was good. you could tell he loved them bigtime. he came out with some really nice sentiments and you could tell he'd poured his heart into the tribute. nice bit about the band informing most of his decisions on muisc/attitude/politics/fashion etc.

he did 15 minute mix of great bits including looping "my man mca's got a beard like a billy goat".

anyway its good and the half hour live perfomance and the interview were good.

That's good, I'm really glad Zane represented (as he always has). Triple J, although well intentioned, pulled out an insultingly poor tribute last Saturday. Just an hour of pandering meandering, poor narrative, sketchy song choice. Deserved so much better.

A nice tribute. I'm hoping that at some point he picks PB as one of his masterpieces, even if it is long overdue. It would certainly put it out there to a lot of Radio 1 listeners who have probably never heard it.

I just found this photo I took in Dallas in 2004. MCA in a blonde rasta wig. Fun fact: the VIP pit emptied out about halfway through so those of us left had an awesome time.

Why anyone would leave a concert half way through when they have tickets in the VIP area is crazy but at a beastie boys concert there's usually plenty of room there even at capacity of 20 or so people. Nice pic!
