i had to submit a photograph of myself with an application i sent off to work for working title films. i chose this one because i thought it was "approachable".
it's also itty bitty small as i edited it wrong, sorry but i guess this is my "HIRE ME" face. no makeup or flash, ha. i thought, well, since i dont make an effort 99.9% of the time i might as well keep it simple. and dark. and hide behind my fringe.
please give me a job!

i think you can tell a fair amount about a person by looking a photo of them. i dont mean hottness either.

it is weird i have to hand in a photo but a lot of places do it now - mostly in trendy skate/alternative clothing shops like cult over here when i guess they do use it to assess your coolness.
i was thinking hard about why they would need a picture, and i honestly think it may just be to aid memory retention. a traineeship at working title films will receive maybe thousands of applications, so how are they going to be able to remember one dude with an average looking CV to another dude with an average looking CV? instead, they can say "that chick with the funky hair, she had great credentials" or "that chick who took that really dark picture but looked approachable nonetheless, let's hire her!" [i wish!].
at least, that's what i reckon.
but you can tell a lot from a picture.. so maybe they are trying to get an idea of my personality without meeting me.
and also, maybe they're trying to do some sort of equal opportunities survey without explicitly asking "are you not a white media type?".
who knows!
