Young dude (mid-20s) checking me out at Whole Foods last week and he noticed my ABA shirt, saying "Yeah, Beastie Boys!" and we talked a bit about them then he said "I just wish I had gotten to see them live" and it struck my chest like a little bolt of lightning. Damn.

Selfish of me I know to not listen to you guys for so long but I miss you so much.

Just got back from NYC, went to Adam Yauch Park. I don't know what to say but just still so sad and gutted by Adam's death. No words still.

its been over 10 years since I started posting on this message board and way over 20 years since I became a die hard beastie fan.

man I feel old.

As my life evolves the Beasties continue to have a different context in my world - not any worse just different.

I will never forget how important they were to me when I was younger and how much my connection with them helped shape my identity and helped me through some hard times.

not to mention dope concerts, making beastie remixes, and briefly meeting them.

It is sad to think MCA is not here. I hope the boys put something together. They are all so creative. Would be cool. Either way Beastie Boys Rule.

Great image of a young Adam Yauch, much higher resolution than the old one I posted. Enjoy.

Adam Yauch was a positive force in music and politics. His legacy of nonviolent activism and artistic contributions will be remembered for generations.

I was at uncle Guiseppes the other day and the kid behind the counter had a tag that read "Mike d". I say to him "so, this is where you went after the Beasties broke up" he laughed and said he gets lots of mentions in regards to the Beastie boys. I then began to tell him that the Beasties used to come to massapequa to see thier doctor about 25 years ago". He didn't seem to care.

catch the FEVER! Get Fever t-shirts just like the ones the BEASTIE BOYS wore on the VH1 HIP HOP HONOR 2006 AWARDS!! www.FEVERRECORDS.com

Robert Plant backstage at Live Aid in Philly in 1985 - check out Yauch on the far right:

Never knew he was there. Obv he must've been taken the trip w/Run DMC. Looks cool as hell, of course.
