Re: Beastie Boys Sign Memoir Deal
Yeah what is this bonus "batter"?
at first I assumed it was "banter" in the theme of the audio commentary tracks they have been providing for the re-issues Their literary agents posted something in late summer from their New York offices, but still no official word as far as a publishing date?

Re: Beastie Boys Sign Memoir Deal
Great scoop!
I'm really excited. Tbh, although there was some talk about not doing the standard memoir / making it a little different, I wouldn't even mind if it was just straight recollections. I must've re-read the Anthology booklet a thousand times. Either way, can't wait to see what arrives

Re: Beastie Boys Sign Memoir Deal
siiick. shit's getting real. this will likely be the last considerable release we get directly from the camp, outside of compilations, remasters, concert footage, etc.
sounds like it promises to be something special. im also really interested to to see what a beastie project with minimal Yauch involvement tastes like, given he was traditionally such a driving force in their multimedia endeavors.

Any chance they'll release any audio as part of the package? That's what would excite me the most.

So true, and bittersweet. But I'm looking forward to something from Mike and Adrock nevertheless.

Re: Beastie Boys Sign Memoir Deal
I know they promised something a little unorthodox, and 'bonus batter' according to CJ, but I really don't equate the release of their memoirs with the opening up of the vault. I also think the story, coming from Adam and Mike - with perhaps some additional insight from Yauch in a historical sense - is a strong enough selling point. They had an amazing career and journey.
That said, I wouldn't say no to some golden nuggets!
