As good as David Luiz appears to be, his real strength is that he looks like Sideshow Bob.

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
Milan-Spurs.
Milan are a classless lot, Corluka on a stretcher after Flamini possibly breaks his foot and they're acting like they're the victims. Yepes then dives into Gomes for some unknown reason. all while Milan players are gesturing for every Tottenham player to be carded. are all Italian teams like this or just the ones owned by politicians about to go on trial for using underage prostitutes? supporting Milan is like supporting Real Madrid under Franco. I hope Spurs take this. but they probably won't.

reminds me.. geezer goes for a job interview and its going really well and the interviewer is winding things up and asks bloke to tell her one weakness and one strength he possesses. "Well my weakness is that i suffer from delusions and often lose touch with reality". The interviewer looked a bit bemused and said "And your strength?" "I am Batman".

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
gattuso is the man. flamini is the man. yepes is the man.
allegri = not the man. how many purtrid performances from seedorf before he buries him on the bench deeper than jankulovski??? for fucks sake we played with 10 v. 11 in the first half before he came to his senses and put pato on. from which we had a much better half despite surrendering the goal. i knew it was bad knews as soon as i saw lennon running at yepes from half with only nesta and crouch to the left. and i saw abate, seemingly only runnign 75%. from which i said to myself "why are you not sprinting you fucking idiot, when lennon beats yepes, nesta has to step over and crouch will be wide open!!" sure enough about 4 seconds later.... i think we can overturn the deficite in london, but we desperatley need prince, pirlo, and ambro fit for that game. zlatan was once again predominatly a flop in a big game. he gave away the ball that tottenham ended up capitalizing on. although he would have redemed himself had his goal at the death counted. that would have been nice. awaiting the fortnight. |

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
gattuso's passion for the shirt is unmatched. its refreshing in this day of premadonnas and money mercenaries.
apparently joe jordan called rino a "fucking italian bastard". that wont fly with the man. interested to see how arsenal do today. they are a huge underdog with the bookies. either finally going to step up with the big boys or stay on their fifiman training club level. |

Passion is playing sensibly and making sure you do your best for your club which involves trying to make sure you dont get a booking so you dont miss next leg. He was fucking out of order, should have been sent off twice. Dont care what JJ called him. You dont retaliate and he should be used to abuse, he's a professional footballer, takes it every week, from players, fans staff etc. needs to grow up. If he is your idea of ideal footballer you need to seriously re-evaluate your shit luv.

i quite like him and at one time would have welcomed him being in a united shirt. He has said all the right things today and it obviously was in heat of battle but cyp saying he is the man and having no thought that he had done anything wrong is wrong.

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
2-1! here we go!
unfortunately only managed to watch the first eight minutes live and then wimmins were needing me at a party. but just saw the 20 minute highlights on 101greatgoals. seems that we were both lucky and at times too quick for Barca. Arshavin did the one thing that he remains excellent at, however credit him for the hard running that put him in that position. these goals can only help his confidence...and his resale value. I doubt Messi will be that wayward with his finishing at the Camp Nou, so Barca must still be the favourites, but when was the last time anyone beat them by playing positive football?

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
rereading my last post it looks like I'm advocating that we park the bus at the Camp Nou. definitely not. last sentence refers to the fact that I can't remember who the last team was that beat Barcelona by actually playing football like Arsenal did last night.
in short, come on you Gunners.

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
whilst i think arsenal were brilliant 2nd half and it was a great thing, i do think there was some degree of barcelona beating themselves a bit last night. better finishing , better goalkeeping and maybe even keeping David Villa on the pitch longer might have been a different result. Dont get me wrong, arsenal showed an attitude that many thought they werent capable of and its a tremendous night for the fans but i just dont think Barca will be lacking for 2 legs on the bounce. They have to keep a clean sheet, if barca score i cant see arsenal going thru. But most people thought inter wouldnt do it their last year.

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
i understand gattuso is a player you will defend to the hilt, every club has one and i understand its a difficult balance to keep the "animal" within. Its like roy keane for example but Gattuso is in his thirties now and should know where the line is,keane mellowed, others did too.Sure he tried to motivate his team but should have showed more self control. at the end of the day he has shown disrespect to a former AC player, embarrased his team and got himself band from the 2nd leg and the first three matches of next years comp.

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
gattuso's comments on the matter...
“I made a fool out of myself, but respect is important," he said during an interview with the television programme Le Iene. “They gave me a five-match ban but to me it feels like a month in prison. "My motto is 'show respect to those who show respect to you.' I went over to Joe Jordan after the final whistle and he took of his glasses in a show of defiance and started shouting profanity at me." haha cassano made a funny comment to him... "Antonio Cassano said to me, 'What a great example you have set, I should be your mentor!' |

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
how can the focus be on anything else when Arsenal were heavy favourites and lose because of an absolute howler?
credit to Birmingham as they did play to the occasion, but McLeish's game plan was so simple a chimp could've come up with it. the trophy was Arsenal's to lose, which they duly did. somehow it was all so depressingly predictable.
