Default Kennedy Center Honors LL Cool J.

I’m watching clips on YouTube, so if I’ve missed anything forgive me, but so far they failed to mention that Adrock discovered LL and gave that credit to Rick Rubin and during the performance tribute DMC wore a Beastie shirt from the check the head era, which was nice

And big ups to LL, just deserved

Yes Adam yauch was very spiritual yes he raised awareness about the situation in Tibet yea he was a great father , husband and friend but most of all he was a dope MC one of the greatest to ever pick up a mike his voice will be missed- Chris Rock

That was cool. Thanks for posting.

I always wondered if Ad Rock or any other Bboy had written their own lyrics for I Need A Beat.

It's always been weird to me how little credit he gets for making that beat. But whenever it does get brought up it's recognized as kind of a seminal moment in Hip Hop. Like even if he hadn't gone on to do anything else in Hip Hop, Ad Rock is not only the guy to "discover" LL, but he also made the beat for his first single.

It's kind of like a secret handshake for us. If we know the whole story or not.

Either way, congrats to LL.
