Nice. Some nice closure on the HSC pt.1 debate in there too, finally.

Thanks for that, I thought that was a great interview. I can't really criticise the interviewer - I found it very engaging. PB is constantly referred to as their best work in numerous articles, nothing new there.

I forget how eloquent Mike is sometimes. He's also looking well.

Keen for the memoir.

Not that it really is any of my business but Mike mentioned Adam has a small child; when did that happen? I vaguely remember a pic of him pushing a stroller but I thought that was a still from a movie he was in.

Is there though? No one really knows if the other HSC material will see the light of day.

I think I read - presumably on here - that they had adopted around that time.

There's still a debate in some corners about whether it existed or was just a goof. It's closure in the sense that if it were planned, it had to have existed.

I've always held out hope it will be released. Beastie Boys 'lost' album? In these modern times? Would be dope.

I thought we were beyond that debate - of course it existed! I never had any doubt that they had two album's worth of material and planned to release it as such. But I know see what McDuff meant by closure.

And yes, I concur. The potential for release remains very open.

But they planned to release HSCP1 doesn't necessarily they have it recorded and finished. It could also be interpreted that the plan was to write and record a follow up and call it HSCP1. I wish the interviewer would have followed up on the question with "so you have a whole albums worth of material that you guys were going to release?

What a great interview. I was a little skeptical when the interviewer tried to summarize their career in a handful of moments. Covered a lot of great topics. Definitely some deep topics on how to transition and evolve past being a full time Beastie.

Thank You Adam Yauch

Not that consumed considering the bands output.

Paul’s Boutique is considered, pretty much by consensus, to be your best album, and the “Sabotage” gave you a new audience.
This interviewer comes off at times as if they did research the night before on wikipedia. While many do indeed consider Paul's Boutique their best, I think many more consider Licensed to Ill to be better. PB is certainly not "pretty much consensus", thats a lazy statement by them.
While Sabotage was immensely popular in song and video. it was Paul's Boutique and Check Your Head that gave them new audiences. Many don't like Ill Communication cuz they feel its just "CYH" re-hashed
