Exclamation $23 + Free Shipping LTI 30th Aniversary LP (9/26 Only)

I know there is a LTI anniversary thread already but I wanted to make sure people saw it.

Granted, it's 50 cents cheaper on Amazon with 2 day shipping because of Prime but if you don't have Prime this seems like a descent deal.

What does everyone think? Is think going to be the closests thing we get to a remaster?

I have the cd, 2000 def jam reissue on vinyl and the double clear vinyl bootleg that came out last year with all the b-sides.

Would this be worth the purchase?

Honestly, I am not anticipating a remaster until the 40th or 50th. (That sounds really weird to say/type.)

I only have a 20 year old cd and a physical copy (CD) of Original Ill from about 15 years ago so I figure it was about time to get something on vinyl.

My question is, does it really need a remaster? It sounds nice as is. Def Jam had their act together back in day. Pretty solid production if you ask me.

The LTI songs that they beefed up for the Solid Gold compilation sounded pretty nice to me. But, this is not the reissue/remaster that I was looking for. A 2nd cd with b-sides and demos would be ideal for me. It'll prob never happen. But, one can hope.

this sounds great to me, but I am saving my money for braces.

I also hope to get to the beach in October, PB and the Crystal Pier

Then there is this $2200 8th grade trip to DC

and taxes

so I might be selling my cadi, just so I can get to the beach for a week

No new LTI for me. I hope you enjoyed my excuses

IMO this is not going to be anything "special". I'm going to track down whatever versions exist because that is just what I do, but I have very low expectations in terms of getting anything new.

For anyone who purchases it, please review it and compare it in terms of sound quality to other pressings.

Saw this in the record store today. Did anyone get it? The artwork looked a little pixelated and the promo sticker didn't mention anything about a re-issue

This. But I agree, if it isn't happening now, I don't see it happening for a long time or ever.

Keep it on

I copped the vinyl because I'm a sucker. Artwork is light and doesnt pop. The audio is no greater than the other releases. Nothing but a cash grab. Disappointing.

No wonder no press was done by Mike or Adam.

I think at best the Beastie Boys office FB mentioned it once or twice.

I grabbed it just because i never had it on vinyl before. If I would have had a previous release I probably would not have bothered.

Sad since it's the 30th anniversary. No digital download card or extras.

Cheeping out on the album art is a bummer too. Maybe something worthy will take its place in the next 10 or 20 years.

That is a bummer that they didn't have a download card. I ended up buying my via Amazon so I got a digital copy for free anyway.

As for the extra, maybe something is being held for the book. Fingers crossed.

Of course I had to buy this. I mean c'mon, vinyl release on the actual website? I was kind of hoping it would be a limited edition or something. (colored, numbered, something!) Oh well, I purchased with packages, shirts and stuff for the kids and me. Vinyl is ok, can't really go wrong with 180g vinyl. HELLO.....Christmas gifts. If you are expecting something special from this release. HELLO.....Disssapointment!
