Hey,
Why don't you do it the old fashion way like I used to when I was a club DJ in the 80's? Take a calculator and a stop watch or clock. Press 1+1 and =, then once your watch or clock second hand lands on the 12 or th 6, hit the = button for every down and up beat for 30 seconds, then multiply that by 2 and that's your BPM (approximately). I don't like to rely on software for this. Also, you don't need a calculator, just keep count with your hand or foot by tapping to the up/down beats while timing it.
