Lot of stuff in magazine...

*There's a 3 pages article about Yauch in the last Q mag.

*A double page portait (pic) in the new Wax Poetics. I think they will make something more important later, not sure.

*In France, the Tsugi mag made a special article with all their best art covers, just pics, no text.

Last bu not least, The Roots begin their show on stage with a cover of "Paul revere" Lyrics with "she's crafty" instrumental.

Is it July or August WP? Can you tell me who's on the cover? Is the pic just Adam? I can't wait to see it, hope I can find one

It's #51, with Nas on the cover. Yauch's picture is an old one, LTI era. He's not alone on it, but the others (Adrock and... hurricane, maybe) are "unfocused".

I was hoping to collect my copies today, but they'd put aside the issue from the week before... and I've got that already. But luckily it wasn't sold out so they could put them back on the shelf. And they get the Wax Poetics to that store as well, so there's a plenty for me to come!

So the source tribute isn't a cover? I'm confused.

It is a cover. Not a very big article. It took me 2 days & five different stores before I found a copy. I haven't read the article, but it is a few pages (several pictures).

it is? I found the newest Source and it's got four dudes on the cover with a color bar background. On the inside there is the editors notes with the cover of the Beastie Boys and a small 3 page tribute. Maybe it's two different covers.

yes, aren't they!?
Really weird, about half way down the page the name under "ANOTHERDRIVEALLNIGHT" is my friend's name. He's a designer and massive BB fan. I have to check if it's his!

My fave is "it's called gratitude".

Thanks Kayleigh2012. You can hear the sadness and respect in Eminem's voice. It would be nice if Ad-Rock and Mike D can collaborate with Eminem (in the future) for a tribute to MCA.

Here's some of the interview in print
http://www.hiphopdx.com/m/index.php?s=news&id=20282

June came and went without Slaughterhouse dropping welcome to: Our House, their debut album on Eminem's Shady Records.*

In a recent interview with DJ Whoo Kid on Shade 45, Em provided a hard date for his latest signees. "The album's coming out August 28. I'm actually finishing up one of the songs for it today, as we speak."

"I rap their verses for them," joked Em. "I present it for them like, 'Yo, here's how you guys should say this, here's what you should say,' and then that's pretty much how you do it."

Eminem also spoke on the passing of the Beastie Boys' Adam "MCA" Yauch, explaining their impact on Hip Hop. "It's really sad. It's really a shame. The Beastie Boys mean so much, have always meant so much since they came out, and mean so much to Hip Hop. All three of those guys. It's really, I don't know man, it's really sad."

"When License To Ill Came Out, that shit changed rap," he added.

Em offered his condolences to the Beastie Boys, as well as Yauch's family, expressing their impact on him. "My thoughts and prayers go out to the whole group, and Adam's family, and everybody. It's just a really sad situation. Those guys and LL made me want to rap. When I saw the Beastie Boys for the first time, you know, 'Fight For Your Right to Party,' when I seen that video...it made me realize that it was possible. Just seeing that and being like, 'whoa, holy shit!' They were killin' it."

He's just ok to me. My 16 year old LOVED eminem until I pulled out my beastie CDs. It's so cool when she has her friends over hearing her blasting the boys.

He couldn't hold a candle to our any one of the beasties! Maybe a (QUICK) opening act
