Re: Adam Yauch - 1964-2012
Hey...I just wanted to thank Adam Yauch for his music, wisdom and positivity on what would've been his 50th birthday. I know that Dechen and Tenzin Losel are very proud for all you did. I've been a fan since I was a kid. MCA's music helped me get through a lot. Thank you for introducing me to Buddhism and teachings of the Dali Lama... It has truly been a lifesaver. I guess you left us so early because your purpose was complete but your altruism is needed much more in your next life... Peace be with you ➰🌾
my artwork/dedication to MCA - http://instagram.com/p/rVfevqCCqU/ Bob Marley was a prophet for the freedom fight If dancin' prays to the Lord then I will feel alright I feel a good to play a little music Tears running down my face 'cause I love to do it And no one can stop this flow from flowing on A flow master of disaster with a sound that's gone I'll take a little shout out to my dad and mom For bringing me into this world and so on MCA- Root Down

Re: Adam Yauch - 1964-2012
I've been listening to some old live shows today. It pains me to know that I'll never attend another Beastie concert ever again - thanks for the memories.

Re: Adam Yauch - 1964-2012
Young dude (mid-20s) checking me out at Whole Foods last week and he noticed my ABA shirt, saying "Yeah, Beastie Boys!" and we talked a bit about them then he said "I just wish I had gotten to see them live" and it struck my chest like a little bolt of lightning. Damn.

Re: Adam Yauch - 1964-2012
its been over 10 years since I started posting on this message board and way over 20 years since I became a die hard beastie fan.
man I feel old. As my life evolves the Beasties continue to have a different context in my world - not any worse just different. I will never forget how important they were to me when I was younger and how much my connection with them helped shape my identity and helped me through some hard times. not to mention dope concerts, making beastie remixes, and briefly meeting them. It is sad to think MCA is not here. I hope the boys put something together. They are all so creative. Would be cool. Either way Beastie Boys Rule.

Re: Adam Yauch - 1964-2012
I was at uncle Guiseppes the other day and the kid behind the counter had a tag that read "Mike d". I say to him "so, this is where you went after the Beasties broke up" he laughed and said he gets lots of mentions in regards to the Beastie boys. I then began to tell him that the Beasties used to come to massapequa to see thier doctor about 25 years ago". He didn't seem to care.

Cannot put into words how much you are missed, Yauch. Eternally grateful to have grown up with you to look up to.
