a point? are you winding me up.

its not clear what he does until you see the replay. He kids the goalkeeper into thinking he was striking it with his right foot and then flicks it with his left in the same movement. Has to alter his step pattern and balance. Very difficult skill, i havent seen anybody try that before. Very cool.

probably easier to do on the run. penalties are lot harder than they look and he would have looked a right twat if he'd have fluffed it. penalties are about making your mind up quickly and he's got big balls to decide to do that

people who don't get it also wouldn't get whats so sick about a lot of subtle football touches. people who really know whats going on notice and appreciate a sick deft touch in a game where it would just go over a persons head who is new or unfamiliar to the game.


while on the topic of cool football acts here's guti's finest moment in a real madrid uni. this is so dirty. its not only the sick skill needed to do this, but the vision, imagination and creativity all coupled into 1 that separates footy from more pedestrian sports.
