Carlo Ancellotti must be some manager - he's barely added to the Chelsea squad, in fact it's got weaker/thinner in the year or so he's been there, he's just taken the players he's got and made them better. The players seem to really enjoy playing for each other and I have to admit Drogba is turning into one of my favourite players. I used to hate him, especially since the CL semi and his "fucking disgrace" rant to the camera. Apparently his son told him that he looked like an idiot on television and he made the change. Also reading about all the stuff he does in Africa makes him seem like a top guy off the field. Awesome player too.

I think what we learnt yesterday - Chelsea will take some beating for the title and Blackpool might finish 19th. Wigan played some of the worst football I've ever seen in the top flight.

I laughed, I enjoyed it so much I actually laughed, out loud.

Great stuff.

As for Chelsea... 21 goals scored, 0 conceded in the past three Premiership games.

Yay!

I love how they kept the team pretty much the same. Manchester City might have bought a shedload of class players but they are turning into what Real Madrid was a couple of years ago.

If Mancini manages to get the team to actually play then everyone is in a world of hurt. They'll probably be harder and harder to beat the further the competition progresses.

I'll take a point away at Anfield any time, but Arsenal should have done better.

Tale of a poor referee and keeper mishaps.

Good goal by Ngog, but Almunia could have done better.

Arshavin doesn't appear to have decided to show up this season. again.

the in-game situations in which Arshavin excels are just too few. he can be dangerous but only in a couple of scenarios. he's got guile and flair, but lacks the athleticism and presence to contribute consistently.

Gerrard was lucky to still be on the pitch at the end...when I say lucky I mean he was at Anfield.

Wenger claimed no more signings...if that's the case then we may as well concede the league now. We need a new keeper. Other than that, we will be a force this season. Second half today we were brilliant.

But, when Blackburn fired those bombs in, we were vulnerable. Although, Almunia actually played well.

That said, apparently he threw his shirt and arm-band into the crowd and waved goodbye. Maybe he knows Schwarzer is on the way?

Dropping two points like we did today is gut-wrenching; especially two weeks in a row, and especially when Chelsea are humping teams 6-0 left, right and centre.

chelsea havent played anyone yet, we've had two tough away games and yes we should have won both but we didnt get anything at craven cottage or goodison last season, so'ill take 2 draws. Its all going to depend on the arsenal and chelsea games. If we do better than last season we have a good chance

^ you would have taken the start you have had though. I think you'll be fine if you carry the start on.

Chelsea have started great but i am hoping complacency and underestimating opposition start setting in, i think when they do have a bad result they will wobble a fair bit.

from bbc football gossip:

Manchester United striker Michael Owen has stoked up the rivalry with Liverpool ahead of the Old Trafford showdown on Sunday. When asked which Premier League fixture most excites him, the former fans' favourite at Anfield said: "Probably the Manchester derby."

Excellent result today. Berba is finally letting his quality show through

For a horrible 10 minutes I thought we were going to turn into the new Premier League Draw Specialists TM, but Berba capped a fantastic performance with his hattrick.

I never like being swamped by the day trippers and corporate hospitality folk though - you can never get any decent chants going. To the Gok Wan lookalike in the tartan suit 3 seats down from me - you can make the 'wanker' gesture at the scouse all you like, but you're still the cunt wearing the tartan suit with your armani cufflinks flapping around in the breeze. I know who looks like the biggest wanker

SO proud of Berbatov, all last year i defended him as much as i could and i am so glad he is finally proving how good he is. its not just the way he is scoring goals but the fact he is winning games with those goals. So often before he has scored goals when we were already winning and missing other match winning chances but he's looking a lot more confident. if only wayne was. if we could get them both scoring at same time it wouldnt matter that we keep letting daft goals in.
scousers werent in it all today and we still made it difficult.
But i firmly believe that we have it in us to score more goals than whoever we play. Including chelsea.

Chelsea havent played anyone of note yet. Lets see how they get on against man city next week

poor result against Albion, despite missing our four best players we still should've had enough to see off West Brom at home. Arsenal starting eleven did not include one player that I'd consider to have leadership qualities.

and we won't win anything with Almunia in goal...and then by the time we do get rid of him it'll be too late as Cesc will be gone too.

thankfully with most other rivals slipping up too it's merely a missed opportunity.

so for the record, you think Arshavin is better than Fabregas.

why this insistence on destroying what little credibility you have left in this thread?

he knows arshavin is inconsistent, he's on the wind up. did it with me last year when ronaldo joined real and he came up with absurd statement after absurd statement. Then when i finally lost me rag he actually made a very good detailed post about the whole thing which is what he should have done in the first place.

ps i was right about chelsea

Saw United reserves tonight.

We played well the first half, but we were lucky to draw 2-2 after our shocker of a second half. We were playing Obertan up front by himself though, so we were lucky to fashion 2 goals.

Some good players there for the future though - namely Eikrem and Brady.

im not totally ready to agree with you. man city is a team full of quality players, but they are not at a championship level just yet. they have the ability to beat anyone, as they proved this year. i still think chelsea has the most quality in the league and will probably lose at most 2 or 3 more times.

my gripe wasnt really who is gonna win the title, it was just the way everybody seemed to be right up chelsea's arse. saying shit like "unstoppable" , and "machine" etc and it was so plainly obvious that had played nobody of real merit. All strugglers this season. Even tho chelsea might win, its going to be a fuck of a lot closer than most people thought. there was some fucking mental results at the weekend.

The week arsenal post seriously impressive financial figures our lack of spending on a keeper was front and centre. So frustrating.

But it wasn't just almunias fault. Most of them let us down.

Why was wilshere rested? He's playing great and his 18 get him out there.

That team need to take a serious look at themselves. They can win the legume but only if they get their attitude right.
