Every team plays 162 games. There are 30 teams. That's 2460 games a year.

You'll see a pitcher snag a line drive like that maybe 30 times a season. More times than not, he'll knock it down and throw the runner out, but catching it on the line like that is pretty rare.

i got there, they are just words. I dont think baseball has as daft a language as cricket, now that is some nonsensical stuff. Googlies, chinamen, night watchmen, silly mid off, i could go on.

I assumed that some of these pitchers would be skilled enough to make that shot happen a bit more with their pitch which is why i didnt realise it was that rare.
