Totally! Yosemite was amazing. The waterfall was pretty mellow so it wasn't as loud as it usually can be. Perfect weather.

did you take 120 to 395 to get to mammoth and see the high meadows in Yosemite?

if you did the mountain on your left as you exit the park next to the water was where I first attempted backcountry snowboardng and mountain to the right of the exit was my first hike above 10k feet.

man, yosemite in the summer is so packed. i usually go in spring or fall. winter's beautiful there too. the best time of the year, though, in my opinion, is that one week in spring when all the dogwood are in bloom.

that's funny, cause they use the dogwood as a symbol for half the shit in that park, and they're pretty much around for a month.

there's a pink one just off the ahwanee meadow in the valley near the management houses (that's who lives in those sweet houses on that open meadow where all the helicopters land) and it makes all the employees mad because we all knew it was a particulalr person who altered their dogwood to do that.

heh i've seen that one. it's huge!

the reason the dogwood mean so much to me is the trip we took after my dad's death...to spread his ashes (shhh!)...they were in bloom. my grandma, who's been there pretty much every year of her life, said she'd never seen it like that before. it's hard to put into words how much hope that amazing display gave me after all that we were going through.
