Not a fan of this guy (don’t hate him either), but saw a review of his new album that mentioned a Beastie Boys-like track. He also sampled Ch-Check It Out and you can hear Adam and Mike on it throughout.

i'm too old for this kid and i don't know anything about him, but he can rap. i like his voice and flow, he's sharp as hell. for some reason i thought he was one of those hybrid "rappers" with that sing-songy stuff i don't like. are all his records like this?

all his records aren't like this one...a calculated play to go "retro" with a boom bap sound that he knocked out of the park IMO. Great album.

He's got a joint album with Madlib coming soon too...
