Gay... non-gay... I'll take what I can get.

Thanks for the kind words, y'all. I've actually put some weight back on, but am working on fixin' the situation again. Life stresses will do that to me, I guess.

Quick Q: R U ACTUALLY FUNNY?
As long as you don't start playing the guitar. My heart sinks at standup nights when the guitar comes out.

Re: The Family Album

All I can say is I kinda killed it that night. I wish I had filmed my set cause it's one of the best I've ever had.

But no matter how good I do I'll always still wonder if I'm actually funny. Luckily, I've talked to some of the funniest people ever and they feel the same way about themselves.

Andy Blitz who has written for Conan forever was at my freaking house omggggggg

Re: The Family Album

As long as people laugh, you keep getting booked and you keep enjoying it.(y)

I'm performing another kind of stand up at the moment - teaching - and every lesson right now is like a performance: wondering how the audience will react, what they think of you, how are they going to behave etc. etc. Kids aren't afraid to heckle, AND I'M NOT AFRAID TO SEND THEM TO THE YELLOW CARD ROOM!

one of the things that scares me about the idea of starting stand-up is the thought that you might be funny, but your very first show might be a bad one. like, even good, famous comedians have horrible shows where despite the fact that they're doing the same act that they usually do, the audience just doesn't laugh and it's really awkward and embarrassing. and it's not because they aren't funny, it's just because they're unlucky, the audience isn't going for it tonight.

so like, what if you're just starting out, and your first show is one of those? a different audience, a different time, a different place and you'd be killing, but you wouldn't know that because you've never done a show before, you can only assume that you aren't funny and nobody will ever laugh at your act

devastating

i heard louis ck say that the first show he did he totally bombed. like, he actually stated he just sucked, but look at him now. it takes perseverance.

Right on Dandy. Looks like a great night and I'm sorry I missed it. I would have had a great time performing sitdown.
