dublin, ireland, easter weekend part 1.
so i went to dublin this weekend. and now i'm back! witness the experience:
i did the normal touristy stuff and some nontouristy drinking stuff. i was staying with locals so s'all good. here is one such pub: and the same pub with all the lovely mirrory stuff: i drank a lot of guinness, some weird guinness different brew stout, red lemonade and whisky and, of course, my favourite - cider! magners! 'sep of course it is called bulmers in ireland. and they have crazy bulmers light! shocked and stunned! that's me in the middle at the video jukebox choosing the beasties and paul simon: |
dublin, ireland, easter weekend part 2.
we went to the jamieson "whiskey" distillery where they brainwashed us into thinking that irish whisky was the best. my friend was picked for the tasting session and she had to try three jamieson whiskys, one scottish [johnny walker] and one american bourbon [jack daniels]. here are the remainders of them in the pic below:
i had half a dozen oysters and a pint o'guinness cos, ya know, we were in ireland and all that. man. they were not pleasant. the first one just tasted of ocean. sea! so i drowned the others in tabasco sauce and downed them. i was determined to finish it. in light of my previous peanut porn, witness the oyster porn! i ATE that! okay this is where the pics get less mature. we ended up in a pub where a dutch rugby team were at. they were all dressed as "farmers", or so they say. dungarees. red neckerchiefs. clogs. it was like the freakin' twilight zone! so curious. we spent the rest of the night with them cos they dressed so fucking awesome. look at them! they look as if they had never played a day of rugby in their lives - so fresh faced and rosy-cheeked. and the one on the far right looks like that dude in the breakfast club, dontcha think? i can't be arsed with posting much more so i leave you with me post lots of drinking and the rugby playing dutchmen. look at them looking like they're saying "pfft, those girls look ridiculous!" all dressed up in their farmer isht. hoho! |
