Re: The Family Album
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
That was for Knuckles, but I guess it fits for both. |
Re: The Family Album
is the baby going to be alright? :o :(

Re: The Family Album
Hahahaha
Knucks... you have no idea how accurate that was :D Avignon sent me those because I told her a story about how I was helping a giraffe to this branch that was just out of her reach. She extended her tongue, got the branch and licked my hand in the progress. I call it my three second love affair with a giraffe ;) |
Re: The Family Album
That red & white painting is in process. I'm not sure if I want to put in the swastika, star of David or some other symbol. Tha there are four babies nailed to boards in various forms of torture. It was a piece about the pain of losing one's innocence. It was very brutal. The one with the stomach cut open had actually cow kidney and heart inside. |

The eighties are so, like, radical. |

Why would you want to put a swastica in it?

Later that day while eating out after the zoo trip me and a friend were extremely giddy and for some obscure reason he licked or kissed my hand. I was all like "DUDE! YOU JUST FRENCH KISSED A GIRAFFE BY PROXY!". I'm wondering to this day why the hell he did that to my hand :D |

It's a study of how certain colors are placed in a certain abstract way and how they immediately affect another person. The same goes for a symbol. How certain symbols affect one another and how they are presented is also important. |
Re: The Family Album
I like how you made your own thread, that nobody went to, and now are flooding this thread with your stupid-ass, pseudo-punk bullshit. hilarious.
Nice to meet you, by the way. |

That's why I've been hesitate in using the swastika and thus no symbol in there yet. I pulled out most of the cotton and then cut up small pieces of kidney and heart and just shoved it in there. I also had red dyed hot dogs mushed up and placed inside the cut-up limbs of the other two, which are not in picture. Those kept falling out as the four boards were hung from a wooden beam. NEedless to say, the project sparked some serious stuff and I had to endure personal attacks from fellow mates. I grew depressed and seriously questioned myself as an artist and whether or not I could continue. I felt really terrible for some time. I'm quite good with criticism, but this was just a lot of noise and attacks, not criticism of the piece itself. |

I meant how it fitted in artistically, not physically ;)
Knucks :D |

Oh my. Well, I wanted it to be as painful as it could be and I thought just leaving cotton out would be a bit...blah. So I wanted it to be like the real insides of a being. I didn't go for shock value, but it can easily be assumed to be for just shock value. It had to be brutal and disgusting and I felt something like the kidney and such (I also used small bits of red dyed scrambled eggs) would help. The bloody things stank and really disgusting. When I have this up for my show in the fall (along with tons of my other work), I'll be putting the kidney in a clear baggie so it won't be smelling really bad and causing a problem. I just hope no one hurts themselves on the barbed wire wrapped around the neck of the "hitler baby". |

b-grrrlie's keyboard layout is set to "Drunk (scandinavian)" :D
Homsar, well, like with the swastica the trouble with using strong objects, symbols and controversial things in general is that you do seem to go for shock value and instead of making your point stronger people will disregard it completely. This is however only my personal opinion, a very uneducated one at that :) |
Re: The Family Album
I would agree; however, I would say this applies mainly to just the general audience (which I don't care much for). The non-general audience usually is quite good with my stuff.
|
Re: The Family Album
Yeah but it's the "general audience" that carries the torches and the pickforks ;)
|
Re: The Family Album
I seriously believe there will be some protest or something when my show is up. I'm almost tempted of putting up a fake video camera just to keep people from messing with stuff.
I'm ready for them. With a Tommy gun. (y) |
