so i was in london [and bristol and bath and rochester] this weekend and my mammy, after my interview, took me to the absolut icebar in london. it's a bar.. made entirely out of ice. the bar is ice. the glasses are ice. the seats are ice. you pay an entry fee and your cocktail is included in that price, then it's £6/each thereafter. you get given spiffy designer capes to wear with massive gloves and shit! and there were genuine finnish dudes in er.. cool furry hats serving you. looksie!:

There's loads of those in Scandinavia.

There's one Absolut Icebar in Stockholm and up north they even make hotels and opera stages over the winter, taking the ice from Tornio river. Weddings are very popular there. Not the river, but the hotel church.

I think I saw that ice bar on the Amazing Race. Cool.

I have a parka like that one, only shorter and shinier.

My dad used to work 10 minutes away from there. We used to go there and pick blackberries and drink water from the creek and other hokey shit like that.

I still prefer it to The Capilano suspension bridge, which seems safe and sturdy enough to drive a Civic over, and is therefor missing that element of danger that the Lynn Canyon suspension bridge still kinda retains. But it's still nothing like the old days when people were dying in that canyon every other month.
