(For all you Americans, Billericay is the village where the Pilgrim Fathers from East England grouped together to prepare before making thier way to Harwich to start thier voyage. Everything here is named Mayflower this and Mayflower that. " Although Billericay was a flourishing commercial centre during the reign of Henry VIII, religious persecution led some inhabitants to embark on the famous Mayflower voyage of 1620. Five people from Billericay were on board. The ship's governor Christopher Martin – a victualler of ships, who lived in what is now known as the Old Chantry in Billericay High Street. Sadly, he perished along with his wife Marie, Solomon Prower, and John Langemore shortly after their arrival at Cape Cod, Massachusetts (a fifth unnamed person, believed to be Peter Browne, survived the rigours of that first winter). But this did not deter other Billericay inhabitants from setting sail for the New World and the town of Billerica, Massachusetts, was established in 1655 to commemorate the origins of some of the first settlers. This began a relationship between the two towns which still exists today.) Although built in 1510 AD, Christopher Martin's house still stands ( although unfortunately now used as an Italian restaurant :( ) Here ends the unexpected history lesson. |

there was a period of time where we were a couple but we weren't "out" as a couple on the board yet. he started a thread about me without naming me, and later on when we were ready i dug the thread up and posted a response that outed us as a couple. it's a beautiful thread (to me anyway), and i likely shouldn't dig it up to link you to it because i run the risk of reviving it, but here it is anyway. |
Re: The Family Album
^^^I remember that thread, and I was the dipshit who didn't got the whole thing, but once explained, it really is wonderful how these two got together
Yay |
