Re: The Family Album

Oh, you know what though? I don't care if it's internet or whatever. The person who posted the pic is a real person in their own real physical life and to them I am just internet but they know I'm real in my opinions and everything so on the net as in life otherwise, I feel bad when I insult someone's looks or honestly criticize them when I don't know them that well. I do it, but I feel bad about it. It's like the criticism tears me down a little simply by its negativity. I try to keep my ass-kissing in PMs, and my responses to pictures devoid of compliments. Most of the time pictures aren't worth replying to at all.

Did you see how Pauli was OBLIGED to tell Bigblu that he was cute because he mentioned that she never commented on his pictures? Whether she meant it or not is irrelevent, the point is it was expected of her as a response or else she'd be seen as snobby or something, critical by omition. That was awkward the way she was put in that position.

Wow, you guys are sensitive. What's the harm of shooting someone a compliment for their photo(s)? I like to compliment and I like getting compliments back. Life's too short for this crap.

Just call Qdrop ugly and let it be the end of that. We don't have to be the abused in this relationship. WE ARE STRONG. Qdrop doesn't control us!

Or something...

I made my remark as more of a joke than anything else, as are 90% of my post on this board.

Since Pauli is one of the few people on here that I have talked to (via PMs, AIM etc.) I felt I could joke around with her without it being a big deal.

And I think everyone, at one time or another, should say that I'm cute, because I am.

I decided to post my pic at hotornot.com (with the dolls in the pic) and so far my highest is a 7, but I'm getting 3's and 4's. I didn't need them to tell me I'm an unattractive bloc.

miss soul fire 06-27-2005 04:09 PM

Not everyone has the same taste in looks, that's for sure...

especially people who like the other people from who they are already, although many people still don't believe the "look good inside and, therefore, outside". I mean, apart from what it's your concept of good looks. And not all adjectives mean "attractive". There are lots of them.

But since this is the Family Thread I feel like there's a warming friendship feeling somewhere in the air going on. I agree it's an ego-boost purpose. Is there any other purpose? Maybe showing crazy faces and trying to entertain people, but you, at least, are trying to get a laughter from someone. You are definitely interested in something. The thing is, whenever some of us post a picture here, besides the fact that they want to put a face to their nicknames, it's definitely a "show me" thing! I see nothing wrong with it, only when it's done waaay too much. That's how society found its purpose to post pictures. I'm tired of hearing that ego-boost thing. I'm particularly interested in seeing people and their crazy and cute and maybe even ugly faces on the net. It's quite amusing! I don't reply to all pictures because sometimes I'm not in the mood or sometimes (and that's rare, really rare) I think the person is ugly and I don't even know them plus, I'm not P of R who replies to all pictures basically (hihihi:D), but this is a "welcome to the family" kinda thread, so I don't feel like breaking the cicle. I don't want to. I'm not interested in doing it so.

Maybe we could have a thread "Am I hot or not" or "analyse my ass". That'd be fun.:o:D

but, isn't that the point of putting your pic on hotornot? i mean, if the scale slides from 1-10, then you are opening yourself up to ridicule... if you didn't need them to tell you you are unattractive, then you shouldn't have posted your pic there at all...

msf - start one of those threads!

Re: The Family Album

Did you not see my photo? I'm quite unattractive. Guy in his twenties, never a girlfriend...yeah. I got plenty of life ahead of me, but it looks bleak.

Anyway, the only comments I got on my photos were in regards to the dolls, that I'm a "pseudo-punk" and a goth. No "uglies" or "cutes" or "paper weights" for comments...

Guys don't have to be good-looking. Just be talented, angry, dangerous, unpredictable, oscillating between cocky recklessness and vulnerable sensitivity, and here's the trick if you can swing it this is the clincher, successful/rich.

I'm talented...sometimes unpredictable.

I find myself relating more to the Buster Keaton characters...minus the love-story parts.

Pauli's really cool, isn't she?

Perhaps qdrop should now go into the remixes forum and tell them all how much they suck.

zorra_chiflada 06-27-2005 08:40 PM

Re: The Family Album

to bring the argument down to a simple zorra level - qdrop, just because you think someone is ugly/unnattractive doesn't mean they are. jugding people by their personal appearance is one of the lowest forms of self-gratification. just because a person posts a lot of pictures, gets compliments, and walks away feeling good, doesn't mean you have the right to come in and go "yeah, actually you're ugly"
stick to attacking people's opinions, the things they say, their morals - it's more honorable.

cosmo105 06-27-2005 08:41 PM

Re: The Family Album

that was beautifully simple, zorra. nice.
