Just want to clarify some stuff.

there are not many rules on this board. but there are rules. these are rules that are inline with the band, their management, and their label. they are not made up by, nor the choice of the admins here. some are legal issues, some are moral issues.

If we have to ban people, we'll make sure there is an explanation. you may not agree with it, and that is your right, but it's our job to enforce the few rules we have along with providing you guys info and making improvements, etc.

Also we have the option to ban for a number of days, weeks, years, etc. We will try hard to make sure the ban length fits the "crime"...

But how many people have been banned within the last few days? And its not like there's some huge backlash against the new mods, there's no message board "insurrection". You can't keep on using the argument that this message board has alot more freedoms much longer. I post on one of those message boards that supposedly has less freedom, and this board isn't very far off. As a matter of fact, that board has way less bannings. Also, I think first offense should be a warning, second banned for one month or however long you said, and third permenant or something.

Yes, I deleted it right after I posted it, because I realized even if it was meant to be humorous, it wasn't becoming of an admin to be so sarcastic and I don't see the need for this to be a big issue, and my post was only going to add fuel to the fire. So there you have it.

Let's just get over this. Follow the few rules on the board that there are and everything is a-ok.

1-day warning bans will be given on first offenses to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully it won't be an issue and we won't even need to do that.

and since we've been seeing a list of people banned on the board at least once a week for the last six years i can truly say that the ammount of people banned now are not less then say in 2000..

at least i will try to treat the people being banned as good as possible. most of em end up coming back with other ip's and names with rage if not making them understand why they were banned. like KOR did..

What disturbs me here the most is people start swearing at eachother. Isn't it possible to be civilized and discuss issues in a normal manner instead of calling eachother names? Whether or not we like it when a user is being banned here, obviously the mods have their reasons. Besides that, every messageboard has rules which you have to abide. If you don't then you get banned.
As for the ban of King of Rock. I think it was a sick joke of him posting here that he wanted to sell a ticket for 100 euros. If you make a joke like that, isn't it obvious that people would get angry? Imho, King of Rock obviously didn't think before he posted.
I was wondering if the admins/mods have some system for treating violations of users. Do users get an official warning and after that a ban if they violate the rules? Or do users get a ban immediately? And would that be a tempban or a permban?

Agreed. We don't like banning, especially as there are other more productive things we could spend our time doing. There are a few rules around here. Follow them (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/faq.php?faq=vb_faq#faq_new_faq_item) and we'll all get along fine.

Secondly, with the TOY bis/hotandwet issue - that's the same person, - the person who posted porn in the thread setting out the rules about not posting porn, then quoted themselves posting porn to fill the thread out with it. I would have thought that's pretty obvious that it wouldn't be tolerated in a thread saying it will not be tolerated.
