i'm not familiar with hotandwet's case but we only ban when there's a good reason to.

posting pictures of porn can't be accepted for example. i'm sure it's just for jokes but people still get offended by it. and that's what says in the rules. not allowed.

this board is pretty loose..if you've been to other forums i'm sure you've seen more "moderation" on those..all kinds of rules and shit.

Just want to clarify some stuff.

there are not many rules on this board. but there are rules. these are rules that are inline with the band, their management, and their label. they are not made up by, nor the choice of the admins here. some are legal issues, some are moral issues.

If we have to ban people, we'll make sure there is an explanation. you may not agree with it, and that is your right, but it's our job to enforce the few rules we have along with providing you guys info and making improvements, etc.

Also we have the option to ban for a number of days, weeks, years, etc. We will try hard to make sure the ban length fits the "crime"...

the board worked fine before, and I dont remember anyone ever being banned. I'm not arguing against people getting banned for posting porn, I can understand that. But how many people have been banned within the last few days? And its not like there's some huge backlash against the new mods, there's no message board "insurrection". You can't keep on using the argument that this message board has alot more freedoms much longer. I post on one of those message boards that supposedly has less freedom, and this board isn't very far off. As a matter of fact, that board has way less bannings. Also, I think first offense should be a warning, second banned for one month or however long you said, and third permenant or something.

This makes sense. I think that a "warning" could be like a 1-day ban, then escalate from there if needed.... minton?

Also, no one is "ban-happy". People follow the few rules on here, no one gets banned. No one wants to have to ban anyone.

you know i understand this is your house and we have rules to follow but you seem to forget its us who make this board what it is. we are the ones that have made this community successful and if you took away the lot of us, the ones that have stuck around the longest and for some reason enjoy coming here and the people they have come in contact with, your're going to be left with a bunch of newbies asking what the 5 burroughs are.

these rule changing decions need to be partly made by the people.

Yes, I deleted it right after I posted it, because I realized even if it was meant to be humorous, it wasn't becoming of an admin to be so sarcastic and I don't see the need for this to be a big issue, and my post was only going to add fuel to the fire. So there you have it.

Let's just get over this. Follow the few rules on the board that there are and everything is a-ok.

1-day warning bans will be given on first offenses to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully it won't be an issue and we won't even need to do that.

This makes sense, and like you've seen in this thread, the "people" did help make decisions (on the warnings). No one is going to get ban-happy. I hate to see people get banned, but the rules are fair and clear, so let's just accept them, and get on with the fun.
