That filthy 90s pop band covered "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath"! Disgusting. They took a rockin' tune and got some chick to get whiny over it. Now I'm pissed

I thought you were posting a review on Amazon, not another annoying post on the board.

Bah, I'm not going to register on Amazon. Too many new CD's to disdain, too little time ;)

I don't know who the Cardigans are, but I don't like them fucking with Sabbath!

Harken back to the wasteland that is the 1990s and think of a song that went "Love me, love me, oh say that you love me."
Yes, it's the same fuckers

Oh, I recognize them now, I HATE that song! I don't ever want to hear this remake, it would just ruin the original for me.

While I can't say I'm a huge Cardigans fan (hell, I think I've only heard two of their songs), I believe that "Lovefool" was a bit of a fluke. If I remember correctly, I believe they were always a bit of a metal band. A, you might want to listen to their song "My Favorite Game". I believe most of their catalogue is more like that than "Lovefool".

That doesn't excuse the fact that they're 90s trash, made "Lovefool" and really screwed up a Sabbath tune.
Come on, as far as covers go, this one is a dud.

Do you have to let it linger, SpanishBomb? Do you have to? :p
P.S. - Cardigans were okay at that time they were big. You've just unloaded a wellspring of memories. Besides "Lovefool", their other famous songs were "Zombie" and uh.... whatever that one song was called that was used for a Winona Ryder movie? Or was it Drew Barrymore? Fuck I forget that title. But it was an annoying one too.

Oh really? Then who the fuck are the Cardigans????
EDIT: NEVERMIND! Looked them up, now I remember.
"Love me, love me. Say that you love me. Fool me, fool me. Go on and fool me."
Yeah, that was cute at the time. Nobody special. Thus why I confused The Cardigans and The Cranberries. ;)
Shit I must be getting Alzheimers....

So you'd buy a nice pretty one that was made in 88?
Is it the elbows that you're having a problem with?

Lovefool is the most annoying song in the history of annoying songs.
It would be the most annoying thing ever if it wasn't for spanishbomb.

Four iggy'd messages in a row. Beautiful :)
I like it when covers sound like the original song. So it's like you're just hearing the same song over again but with someone else singing. There's got to be a point to that. Somehow.

I am capable of enjoying an imaginative cover in addition to a straightforward one.
But, when you take a tune like "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" and get a chick to bitch the lyrics over a stale, tinny organ, it really makes you want to set her and the rest of the idiot band ablaze.

I saw the Cardigans as an opening act this past year in concert and they weren't too horrible live. They didn't do Lovefool. I've heard it always embarrassed them.
You've got a point though. It's pretty bland. I guess that's what those crazy Englishmen call 'taking the piss'.
I like their Ironman cover a lot better.

Nah, it's better when cover songs try and do something radically different from the original... and succeed.
If it's going to be a carbon copy, you may as well just listen to the original artist (generally speaking, I'm sure there are exceptions).

I thought everyone loved ABBA! I liked some of their stuff in an cheesy-remembering my childhood kind of way, until I took my mom to Momma Mia and I haven't been able to listen to them since. Maybe someday, after the memory fades . . . .
Lovefool is indeed a perfect pop song. Plus it's kind of subversive I think.

Ozzy's brain is fried from snorting coke and ants; given his state, he probably loved Hanson too
