R.I.P. BB General Political Discussion Board

[travesty]

This board sucks! You know I really enjoyed some hearty discussions prior to the election on this board. I truly valued rational discourse with most of you who shared alternate views than my own, and I still would. But since returning to the board last week I see that it is awash is finger pointing and substance-less babble. What happened? Is this stuff really interesting to people? I recently posted a question requiring a little thought and insight and the thread got 2 freaking replies!

Yet when sisko posts some lame cut and paste the thread gets fifty or more mindless, "shut up you are so stupid" posts. Or It's Bush's fault no it's Clinton's fault, no its Rove, no its Hillary, no its Cheney, No its the military, no its the terrorists" Those seven answers are the only ones ever put forth here and in one week I am so burnt on it, I must annouce my permanent departure.
I hope everyone finds a more constructive way to discuss the REAL issues and come up with REAL solutions because this is a waste of time and bandwidth.

I never noticed your stagnate and die thread, but it starts with "If the hardcore Union Dems know this priciple", and I find that line completely out of touch. I live in one of the top 10 Labor states (ranked 8th per capita in the US) and quite honestly....Unions are suffering here. The example of a decent wage and benefit package is not a top priority.

Democratic Govenor Christine Gregoire and Democratic Senators Patty Murray, Maria Cantwell are good enough women, but courting unions is not their bailiwick.

So......I just had a hard time getting past that first sentence. Sorry.

Personally I post alot more on two other boards than I do on this one. Not much we can do about it unless he gets himself banned. Arguing with tree stumps gets pretty old.

I agree with the above that GMsisko is way off the mark as far as intellectual arguments, but at least he started a bunch of threads and got people talking. You went to Disneyland in July.......wow! Turns out gmsisko is a huge fan of animals, he really likes puppies and kittens, all the little animals on Gods earth. So am I sam i am, this makes me happy that I have something in common with gmsisko1.

I think alot of the regular posters will be happy to see your back, you give them a nice POV to bounce off of.

I don't have a personal problem with you, I just think that you and I have completely different styles and goals. I can't understand a message board debating style where you think of other people are your adversaries or opponents. I come here to have fun. I gather that you're used to being deferred to and when I didn't do that you called me stupid in about a dozen different ways. I'm going to set that aside and see what happens in the future.

Plus I don't usually post in this section so I doubt we'll run into each other too often. :)

Unlike Ali, I have respected your takes on my points of view, as I have with D_Raay and QDrop and even valvano.

You should see my back and front....baked red as a lobster. Peeling like heck!

Us boogeymen of conservatives aren't all that bad...we take time to raise families too. Plus, I'm planning a wedding at the end of the month (to a Liberal of all things! We can't even talk about abortion, for gosh sakes! :D ) and have a job, etc.

Anyhow, enough personal stuff.

I'll keep trying with you, too, Documad, but I LIKE fellow Beastie Boy fans and respect them. Again, unlike Ali, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt as well. I think I proved my points well adn documented them, backing them up with sources where necessary to show where I got my information from. I took time to find those sources outside of the blogs that GMSISKO utilizes. So, let's see what happens going forward, as long as we BOTH can remain RESPECTFUL.
