Alrighty folks, new season, new thread! So it starts next Wednesday, my gal pals and I are of course gathering for the event.

When I was in Wyoming visiting my man over the weekend, we rented the first disc of season one because I wanted to get him hooked, and sure enough, it worked. I wish I could afford to buy/rent the rest of the season because I can't remember all the little details, but I'm sure it will come back to me.

I think I heard that there will be a new character introduced as a love interest for Jack? I'm excited for that but at the same time, there's so much to figure out still with the other characters, I don't want anyone new!

I heard it was going to be that girl that he was talking to in the airport (I think at the bar) before boarding the plane. Apparently, there will be a whole group survivors that they didn't know about (tie in to the black lady that stared into the sea that refused to believe that her husband was gone?).....in rewatching the first season I have come up with a possible explanation.....I hate that I may have ruined it for myself.

...she is one of the many survivors from the OTHER HALF of the plane that crashed on another part of the island.

also, you will find out what is in the hatch in the first episode....and notice the "Quarintine" sticker on the hatch when they open it.
notice how the sticker is NOT on the outside of the hatch (as if the contents of the hatch had been quarintined) but rather on the inside of the hatch going out....as if the ISLAND has been quarintined.

the creature on the island (the shadowy thing) is NOT nanobots....which is what many of us nerds were thinking.
it is NOT a dinosaur.

we will also meet a nigerian man who crashed on that drug plane....and has been living on the island since.

though shot in the chest on the last episode...Sawyer will not die.

Hurley's past may not be as pristine as it seems.

one major female character from the cast will die this year. (rumors all point to claire)

one of the "others" was on the plane that crashed (supposedly the female stewardess....she was the lady on the "others" boat when they took walt.)


and .....want to hear the lastest prevailing theory about "the numbers"?

they are a numeric formula for FATE. they were discovered thousands of year ago and used to change FATE....
the numbers were used by the "others" to gather the survivors together ...why? apparently for Walt and the baby....but more remains to be seen.
Hurley was NOT supposed to be on that plane....or ever win the lottery, etc. he stumbled upon the numbers accidentally..and used them.

this explains how all of these ridiculous things keep happening out of coincidance, etc...

he auditioned...and the producers loved him so much...they wrote him into the script.

unfortunately....they didn't really consider the very REAL difficulty in getting an obese man to lose weight periodically for a TV show to stick with continuity.

I would rather watch Lost any day. It's pretty much just a film on television. The cinematography is amazing, and it's better than a movie because it has time to go so in-depth with the situation/characters.

1 There's always a day to be saved and Jack saves it and that usually involves employing renegade and illegal tactics.

2 He looks fine doing these things.

I didn't watch the first season when it had it's run on TV, but I started watching the repeats during the summer and go hooked.

Now, I got the whole DVD set for my b-day, and have watched the first 12 episodes - BTW, the audio commentaries are kick-ass!! JJ and the other producers point out all kinds of shit that I missed even watching some of the episodes twice.

Kate is robbing the bank. I had the idea she was in on it from the beginning, but when she shoots the other robbers just to get the fucking little toy plane, I thought....well, it's finally jumped the shark on her plotline... Just my opinion.

When you see Charlie hanging in the tree...whoa...I was freaked out the first time.

Finally......I think Locke is the coolest character as well. I wish he and Kate would hook up, he'd get sick of her pouty-ass face and gut her like a fish...

Oh, man.....there's pieces like where you see hands hanging down from the fuselage on the first episode and Jack's staring in there....creepy when you realize it's not part of the plane or anything.

Also, they talk about casting decisions, but with more detail...like Matthew Fox's reading for Sawyer and his audition was the scene where Kate is sewing his side. AND, that sewing scene was actually filmed way after the fact of the rest of the episode....

Also, Jack's tatoo has meaning and the number on the safe deposit box is the same as on the flight #.

Also, the whole scene where the plane blows up in the first episode...they cut out of the playing episode and show all the behind the scenes crap....like a piece burned through the cables holding it and nearly incinerated Dominc Monaghan (Charlie).

All kinds of cool crap thus far. After I watch more, I'll post it...so look for more...

I loved the beginning. My friend and I, the whole time, were like "it's Sawyer...no...is it Hurley? What, no...it's someone's flashback...wait.." and then you hear the boom of the dynamite and it was all OMFG he's in the hatch!! It was fairly obvious that it was going to be that guy down there when he said "i'll see you in another life". Parts of the show still bug me, like the whole debate about going down the hatch, because before in the season finale it was freaky and felt like they needed to get down there. Now, that anxiousness seemed to be gone kinda. When Shannon (who I fucked hate, btw) saw Walt, that was fucking freaky. I watched that part a few times and man, scared the shit outta me.

OK....observations from last night's episode.....

In the beginning of the show when we see that guy (now we know it's Desmond from the stadium)...he goes to the computer and types in the numbers and hits execute.....

The car crash vicitims in the ER....when Jack is working on the girl, they bring in the other driver and say "Adam Rutherford, 57", (Shannon's last name is Rutherford and in season 1 they say that her dad is dead)...then time of death 8:15 (815 is the flight number)

I recently found an interesting natuarlly occuring thoery found in our world that states everyone has a mirror image somewhere in the world. You may have heard of this. Its called Roussau's genetic mirror theory, and I must say it is very interesting. Roussau's genetic mirror theory says that everyone in the world has an exact twin somewhere, however according to the theory you never encounter this person, by laws of probablitly and other natuaral occuring phemnomen. Its the theory that was devised by a French Mathematician named Marseille Roussau in the year 1988. He used a series of numbers to explain his theory. Now I know you're not going to believe this but here goes.

Let me explain...

The 4 stands for 4 degrees of separation (not 6 or 7 as commonly stated.) Roussau believed that everyone in the world was connected by four different people. So in theory could meet yourself by using four different people connected to you. Example: Your brother's, boss's, neighbor nephew, knows your mirror. Hard to believe, I know but keep reading.

The 8 stands for the eight continent, or the only place in the world where you could meet your mirror. He calculated it to be somewhere in the south pacific. Now we know its not actually as large as the other contintents but its used figurtively because everyone in all 7 continents could meet there mirror on the 8th universal continent.

The 15 stands for the chances of you acually meeting yourself on this place, as in 15 out of 4,815,162,342. Look at the second set "815." Ring any bells? Interesting huh?

The 16 stands for the maximum amount of people that could encounter thier twin all at the same time. Think about the number of main characters.

The 23 is the number of years apart your twin and yourself are. You are not the same age as your twin. By chance and probablity it takes 23 years exactly for the same genes that made you to be connected again to form another you.

The 42 stands for the maximimum number of years your twin and yourself can be alive at the same time. However people do die at diffferent times so thats why everyone isn't dead at 75. For example my twin was born on Sept. 6 2003 b/c i was born on Spet. 6 1980. Now that doesn't mean i will die in the year 2045, I could, but its not set in stone. My twin could die when he is 16, and then the whole thing starts over again.

This is all very complicated and I don't know how well I explained it but the connections with the show are too coinidental to not be real.

Roussau and his team (wife, included) went to the 8th continent. You can figure out how they died and why by the numbers and equations. It also fits with every character. You can predict when they will die. There are others on the island who are twins of the survivors, but have been there 23 years longer.

There is a book Roussau wrote 16 years ago in 1988 when he came up with the theory. Thats where I got it from.

this dude from one of the Lost Message Boards knows what's up:

"1. Des woke up and punched in the numbers 4-8-15-16-23-42 which add up to 108.

2. He then here the explosion from Locke Jack and Kate. The go back to the camp and Jack says there is 3 hours till dawn. Which meant that Des woke up in the middle of the night.

3. We know Jack came down the hatch less than three hours later because it was still dark. During that time Locke punched in the number and reset the countdown to 108:00 (less than three hours after Des reset it). It was at 002.23 (I think). 108:00 stand for only one of two options. Minutes (1 hour 48 minutes) or some other form of time not restricted to hour/min/sec. I think it was minutes which would fall into the time line from when Des reset it after he woke to when Locke set it (less than three hours) which rules out the 108 hour theory.

4. The timer has to be reset or it will self destruct. This does two things. A. it keeps Des from roaming around the island because he will have to go far. B. Prevents him from making contact with the quarantined area (the island) and becoming infected. Which by the way, I think, he takes the injections, to help prevent infection.

5. There was a ping pong table and two beds in the bunker. Letting us know that the bunker was made for at least two people. We assume Des is the only one in it and I think he is.

6. He has been in the bunker for who knows how many years waking up every 108 minutes to reset the timer. (I am sure someone will count up the tally marks on the wall and have some theories soon).

THIS IS WHERE IT GETS GOOD

7. Hurly found out about he numbers 4-8-15-16-23-42 from his friend in the insane asylum. The guy did not say much, just those numbers. He was once in the bunker, having to reset the countdown every 108 minutes for who knows how long and went insane. I don't know if he was in there with Des or not. Probably not, but that would explain the numbers and the guy being crazy.

8. Hurley’s friend also told hurly, when Hurly told him about the lottery, that he opened the box and he must get away from the numbers. Des referred to the computer as the box when he made Locke punch in the numbers.

9. When Des asked Locke "are you him?" he was looking for his replacement or something to balance the bunker again into two men shifts. That is why he was confused about Kate, He was only expecting one person.

10. Des was surprised to hear that they (43) people has been on the island for 44 days. This is because he would not expect anyone to live that long without being infected with whatever it is that makes people sick.
11. Des also says something like the "the world still exists?". That is because he not only thought that the infection was on the island, but thought that it would, by now, spread to the entire world.

Well that is my thought. I may be wrong and I may be right. But it all lines up to me."

this dude from one of the Lost Message Boards knows what's up:

"1. Des woke up and punched in the numbers 4-8-15-16-23-42 which add up to 108.

2. He then here the explosion from Locke Jack and Kate. The go back to the camp and Jack says there is 3 hours till dawn. Which meant that Des woke up in the middle of the night.

3. We know Jack came down the hatch less than three hours later because it was still dark. During that time Locke punched in the number and reset the countdown to 108:00 (less than three hours after Des reset it). It was at 002.23 (I think). 108:00 stand for only one of two options. Minutes (1 hour 48 minutes) or some other form of time not restricted to hour/min/sec. I think it was minutes which would fall into the time line from when Des reset it after he woke to when Locke set it (less than three hours) which rules out the 108 hour theory.

4. The timer has to be reset or it will self destruct. This does two things. A. it keeps Des from roaming around the island because he will have to go far. B. Prevents him from making contact with the quarantined area (the island) and becoming infected. Which by the way, I think, he takes the injections, to help prevent infection.

5. There was a ping pong table and two beds in the bunker. Letting us know that the bunker was made for at least two people. We assume Des is the only one in it and I think he is.

6. He has been in the bunker for who knows how many years waking up every 108 minutes to reset the timer. (I am sure someone will count up the tally marks on the wall and have some theories soon).

THIS IS WHERE IT GETS GOOD

7. Hurly found out about he numbers 4-8-15-16-23-42 from his friend in the insane asylum. The guy did not say much, just those numbers. He was once in the bunker, having to reset the countdown every 108 minutes for who knows how long and went insane. I don't know if he was in there with Des or not. Probably not, but that would explain the numbers and the guy being crazy.

8. Hurley’s friend also told hurly, when Hurly told him about the lottery, that he opened the box and he must get away from the numbers. Des referred to the computer as the box when he made Locke punch in the numbers.

9. When Des asked Locke "are you him?" he was looking for his replacement or something to balance the bunker again into two men shifts. That is why he was confused about Kate, He was only expecting one person.

10. Des was surprised to hear that they (43) people has been on the island for 44 days. This is because he would not expect anyone to live that long without being infected with whatever it is that makes people sick.
11. Des also says something like the "the world still exists?". That is because he not only thought that the infection was on the island, but thought that it would, by now, spread to the entire world.

well, consider this: once all the answers are given, the show is over.

the show is making ABC, the producers, and the writers millions of dollars a week.
do you think they're in a hurry to give it all away?

they will throw us bones occasionally...answer a few questions a season...

ideally, there will be an end....a limit to how long the show will go...and they will answer everything and end it. at least, that's what the writers want.

Though ABC may say "fuck that, we're riding this cash cow till it's dry!" and just force the show to go on till it jumps the shark and becomes a joke...long after the writers originally intended it to go (as Fox did to the X-files).
