I don't think it's ass kissing. If I had to vote, I'd vote for him to stay. I didn't vote because I couldn't agree with the whole statement. I neither like nor dislike him. I don't know him well enough to have an opinion. I can't believe that people are dying to make an impression on him. There are many people who want everyone to stay and try and get along. I think they would vote that way no matter who made the poll.

I think that is a very selective interpretation. As Docu, and you yourself pointed out, precisely because of my wording (and it having exactly the effect I had hoped for, it seems) it is skewing bias *away* from the "stay" result. Similarly, I cannot see why someone, unable to vote me out per their desires due to lack of anonymity, would then go completely against their intentions and vote for me to stay. That makes no sense at all, and seems wishful thinking.

I do not want people to think I should stay as some vindication of their beliefs in freedom of speech, or because they think "everyone should get along" - even if that means taking regular personal abuse in good humour, and an apathy option would only create a bigger irrelevent grey area that detracts from the real meat of the issue. As for anonymity, it is not an option for the alias reason, and as such it is a bit of a red-herring to bring it up.

Now, are you going to tell me that (aside from the flip-floppers who, when the month is up, are welcome to clarify their final position) you feel a substantial number of the yes vote did not actually agree with the rubric of the vote they cast? And, more importantly, how do you think it could be resolved, given the clear simple English it was written in, and lack of any possile area of confusion.
