Brilliant, Blair can't get his own backbenchers to vote for this gargantuan waste of our money - so he needs the Tories to help him out (again, like the education bill). And there's David "Eco-Warrior" Cameron showing his true colours, arguing for a British Nuclear capability, because "we don't know" what Russia and China will be like in 20 years time, when the current fleet get mothballed.

Fuck the Tories, I'm voting SNP (http://news.scotsman.com/politics.cfm?id=1796532006)! The only reason I'd have voted for Cameron, other than to give Blair the Finger, is because he says he's Green. How the fuck can he be Green and want to keep a Nuclear capability, at the same time.

The SNP are going to sink Labour, good and proper and at least I can give Blair a Black Eye without having to resort to voting for the Tories... and let's just see exactly how well the English manage without Scottish Oil and Gas (and hydro-electricity!).

I'll tell you why we have to keep our Nukes, it's because if we don't, then we'd have to rely on the French!!!

Such hypocrisy, ranting about Iran's Nuclear Weapons Program (no proof of which) and then saying that the terms of the NPT don't apply to the countries which already have nukes, just those who don't!

I'm sure those Squaddies bumbling around Kandahar in their unarmoured Land Rovers must be pleased to know that £25bn is earmarked for a project which we will never use and only 'need' in order to keep up with the French.

It's the Emperor's New Clothes, for real.

Green does not necessarily mean you are against nuclear power. It just means you want a better way of keeping the Earth "healthy" than the ways it's been done for the past 200 years to "progress" society to where it is today.

BTW.....how much "green" energy went into the computer you use to so readily post on the internet?

I'm all for Nuclear energy - as long as there's a way to deal with the waste... which is more containable and no less harmful to the environment than Carbon waste.

For your information, the computer I use to post on the internets is four years old and was already made when I bought it. I buy my electricity from ecotricity (http://www.ecotricity.co.uk/). Where do you get yours?

Fair enough.

I get my energy from the Hoover Dam, which is hydroelectric and one of the cleanest forms of energy on earth.

Thanks for asking!:p
