I wonder how close the Beasties are to finishing the new album? They've scheduled gigs from the end of May through mid-July...and now an additional September date.

Are they that close to finishing the album? Do they plan for it to be released before, during or after those dates.

It seems to me the more logical steps would be to finish the album...then go on tour. Otherwise they've scheduled a tour before a new album drops. :confused:

they seem to release their stuff in the early summer so I'm banking on a mid June release. that article also said that in Paris they're gonna play all or mostly new material and that it will not be a hip hop show as they've done in the past. this leads me to believe they will be playing some of their new material. Also I saw them a couple of days after TT5B dropped so that makes me think they like to tour right after they release something.

Well they can test out the new songs, that makes sense to me. Just harder to wait for the album, especially when they aren't coming to your city.

Somebody on here said that Diamond said they schedule tour dates ahead of time to force themselves to finish the album

yeah, i guess it's gotten to the point now where they've actually started scheduling a tour. it's not just a string of dates anyomore.

today they played intergalactic on mtv... as i have lost any faith in this channel to program according to any musical motivations i would say - label pushing the band again because new release is coming!
