It took a while for it to grow on me. But it did.

On a hot day...

I thought it was great when they used it as their first song during the tour.

Lots of energy

Here is a add-on question:

Do you think that "triple trouble" should have been the 2nd single and video?

I think open letter to nyc should have been!

I love the video for open letter, but i think it should have been more like "Alive". I would have rather seen a video with them walking around the city instead of the footage they used.

I pretty much felt the opposite of what you typed.

You can’t diss on a Mr. Belvedere reference, you can however diss on the played out sugar hill sample (even though it was only the baseline intro, instead of the good times/another one bites the dust sample)

I loved the song when I heard it on the album, but I'm not sure it was a great choice for a single. It did pretty well though. I liked it at first because of how oldschool it sounded and that was kinda the point of the entire album. I love how Adrock gives the intro, just like on a few LTI/PB tracks... and it's equally drenched in lingo nobody uses.

Go on, then.

I'm sure that I already told about this (but I can0t remember in which thread):
after I saw the Triple trouble video, and I realized that when AdRock says "Kicks On the 1... 7 and 11" he shakes his shoulders, everytime I listen to that song and arruive at that point I shake my shoulder. The problem is that I'm a grl and when i shake my shoulders I shake also something else....one day i was goin' on work by motorbike last summer, and i'm used to listen to the iPod ander the helmet so...i was listening to that song and I arrived at THAT point while I was stoppin' at the redlght....I shook my shoulders and... and a man, in the car at my leftside was starin' at me, and his wife got really angry....damn..

that part when he: goes kicks on the 1.... 7 and 11, snares on the 5 and 13 is apparently a refference to how you program the opening beat of michael jackson's "beat it" on a drum machine

^ Hah didn't know that, interesting. I like the song, but it's not really my favorite. It's one of my favorite music videos though. And I do that shake the shoulders thing with the "7 and 11" part too haha! :D

It's not just Beat It, it's the most standard drum beat there is, hip-hop or rock or otherwise. Hard to explain in words but it's the "bum-chish bumba-bum-chish" thing. Yeah.

I Agree, Open Letter would have been insane if it was filmed like Alive was.
