Check the Technique -New Beastie Boys Book out!

The new book by Brian Coleman (who also wrote Rakim Told Me) is out now. The name of it is Check the Technique. He dedicates a chapter to the Beastie Boys' album Check Your Head. It is top notch! It is about 4-6 pages on the devlopment of the album, and then (2-3 pages) a short song by song summary (kinda like what Dan LeRoy did with the Pauls Boutique book).

All three of the Beastie Boys and Mario C. and Money Mark were interviewed for it and there's some new info that I hadn't heard before tucked in there..

The balance of the book is made up of interviews with the people behind other great hip hop/ rap albums from the golden age.

Good read. Only have read 3 chapters (The Pharcyde's, Cypress Hill's, and the Beastie's) but can't wait to get to the Tribe, De La, Big Daddy Kane, and Public Enemy bits. Go get it.
