When you've already given yourself an uphill struggle tactically it's pretty frustrating when the referee seems to be against you too.

Those pesky referee's, always giving decisions against Man United. Nothing ever goes their way. It's a conspiracy.

I love how your narcissism seeps into everything, Padster.

anyway, a Chelsea win was a fair result. predictably Ferguson has come out against the ref which he seems to do every time Man Utd lose. if we're talking about players who shouldn't have been on the pitch, look no further than Wayne Rooney whose flying elbow against Wigan would've had Ferguson up in arms if the roles had been reversed.
Chelsea created far more chances and if not for a Van der Sar miracle save and the post, the result may have been even less in doubt.

I wouldn't worry though if I was a Man Utd fan, Arsenal's annual injury crisis means Rosicky and Bendtner will have to play a major role and well...yeah..

yo the glassman is just doing his thing DT be easy.

Every year I think "There's no way we can suffer another injury crisis" and lo and behold it happens.

Barca will probably beat us, but I'm still looking forward to it. The first game was one of my favourite ever.

Shame about the Carling Cup, and full credit to Birmingham. Its tough to take given they lost due to such a cock up, but at the same time, if they were that good or as good as they should be, they should have been winning by that stage.

If the rag tag crew can hold out til some of the old reliables make it back the League is still a definite shout. Time for Bendtner and Arshavin to bring it full time.

0-0. poor result vs Sunderland.

how many chances do Arsenal want to put the ball away?! Bendtner is the Ibrahimovic of the Premier League. not in terms of his talent, he's just a flat-track bully, who'll beat up on the lower leagues and is full of unwarranted self-confidence that never manifests itself as results in important games. still, when we were crossing the ball towards him at least there was the potential that it would head towards the net. the maddening short passing at the top of the box has so little room for error that more often than not all opposing defences have to do is ruffle one of our dwarves and the ball's hacked away to halfway.
a couple of poor decisions in the last twenty minutes from the linesman, but at home Arsenal should be winning that game.

Lex Diamonds

I don't think you're giving Sunderland enough credit. They made some amazing blocks and saves (admittedly with the occasional help of the woodwork) and Welbeck was causing plenty of problems for Arsenal at the other end.

i only saw the last 20 minutes but they played well enough there. had a couple decent chances themselves to score.

but considering sunderland is better than stoke city, and leo messi is not good enough for stoke city, then arsenal should have no problem with barcelona.

talk about poaching. mutant fox in the box Dirk Kuyt.

Man Utd's loss somehow makes Arsenal's draw yesterday both better and worse.

Suarez looks like he's going to do the business in the Premier League. Andy Carroll £35 million bench-warmer?

and apparantly giving the goalkeeper a piggy back is a foul now.

a fair result for wolves though; 3-3, great game.

yeah, one of the more ridiculous red cards you will see. i mean, in the eyes of the law, it works, but for fucks sake a bit of common sense please. it was obvious he hadn't heard.

that said, arsenal deserved fuck all. their goal was a present, i don't remember an actual shot on goal. on the other hand, barcelona can play like such a bunch of petty wankers at times. don't get me wrong, they can be nothing less than sublime, but this insistence on trying to create and finish the perfect goal every single time must drive their fans mental.

Van Persie's attempt that didn't count, which followed an offside call, was the only shot all night by the usually offense-minded Gunners, who were outshot an incredible 19-0. Barcelona had 68 percent possession and completed 738 passes to Arsenal's 199.

from an espn article. pretty incredible stats.

no it was a ludicrous yellow card which would have been ok and probably kept van persie on his toes had he not seen the old red mist in the first half. from the minute wilshere went down and barca complained he was livid and he couldnt control himself, its the first booking that got him sent off because only he caused that.

suck it, gaylord.

that was wack, bossed them in the first. second was more even but still had the better chances.

seedorf actually played very well all night, first time this year. every one had a pretty decent game actually.

besides ibra, who flopped again on the big stage. some decent lay off touches, but for fucks sake move to get the ball dipshit. waaay too static.

second half binho and pato stopped checking back, idk why, but that hurt, cut off the connection between the mid and uptop.

i think pirlo would have really helped tonight, maybe been able to thread a ball from deep to one of the guys up top. but injuries are part of sport. o well.

hopefully inter beats munich and they have to fight on 2 fronts and it detracts from serie A.

tottenham did alright tonight, did what they had to. executed their game plan of hitting long high balls to crouch.

maybe next year with some midfield and wingback enforcements.

with van der star retiring man utd really will need to bring in a quality goalie unless they want to surrender some points next year. ask arsenal about that.

they really should just pay pepe reina's buyout clause. i think its at $20 mil. a bit steep but worth it in the long term.

oh, man, what a bad 2 weeks for the Arse.

I was over at the game in the Camp Nou. Seriously, I know Barca are amazing, and they were whipping us, but up until the sending off we were leading the tie, and the ref robbed any chance of it being a thrilling conclusion. Was only going to be one conclusion.

I'll say this: Again, Barca are fantastic, but they whipped us for an entire 45 minutes and got one goal. Had we had 11 men it would have been a different game. Possibly the same result, but jesus, the ref removed any chance.

Camp Nou is a mega stadium tho.

As for the Cup game.....such a strange game. We bossed it in terms of possession/chances, but we just were'nt clinical, but United just needed 2 chances to do it. They just win games. Simple as.

Still, League to play for.....

it's krauts.

and yeah, strange game. Bayern should've finished it off, but their backline is as flimsy as...Arsenal's, so their games are never won until the 90th.

I'm not sure this will have too much of an effect on Italy's co-efficient. it's a bit like papering over the cracks of a rotten, decaying whore house. and I don't mean Berlusconi's weekend villa.

nah every bit helps. it goes on what has happened for the previous five years in europe.

its pretty bullshit the only reason germany is over taking italy is because of their success in the europa league. and they are even hot on the heals of la liga as well!

europe games count the same as champions league games. how dumb is that?

all this for a league that hasnt won a european cup since 2001. a time in which italian teams have reached 5 champions league finals and won 3 in that same time.

see thats so tricky so say.

hes on 7 straight league championships. he scores a lot of goals and provides a lot of assists. although they might not be against the bigger teams always he gets you points in a lot of games where you might drop them otherwise.

i dont think someone can argue his correlation in being a major part of whatever team hes on and that team winning the championship.

the fact that he so bullies the weaker teams in leagues he has to be in there. plus some of the stuff he does is honestly amazing, theres no denying that.

he may be overrated because he does not perform in big games when you really could use him, but that does not mean he should then be underrated.
