Adam Horovitz, a k a Ad-Rock of the Beastie Boys, schooled some of New York’s top educators on the finer points of reggae, old Stax Records tracks and classic Marvin Gaye, when he DJ’ed a benefit for the Ghetto Film School organization’s Cinema School in The Bronx this week at the Standard Hotel. The evening honored Joel Klein who mixed with Department of Education CFO Veronica Conforme and GFS board members, including Adam’s sister, “Moneyball” producer Rachael Horovitz, IFC and Sundance Channel president Evan Shapiro and CNN executive vice-president and COO Greg D’Alba. Questlove followed Ad-Rock to keep the dance floor grooving.

That's really cool news. Not surprised she would do something like that. Music is in her too. Speaking of Rachel, she and Adam Yauch are working on a film together based on a book "Pictures at a Revolution." Yauch's the executive producer and of course it's being distributed by the lab. The release date is set for 2013. :)
