After seeing a 1,235% increase in Beastie Boys albums sales last week, i was intrigued by the Top 7 songs downloaded;

Brass Monkey with 15,000
(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!) with 14,000
"No Sleep Till Brooklyn" was third 14,000
"Sabotage" 14,000
"Intergalactic" 12,000
"Paul Revere" 11,000
"So What'cha Want" 11,000

and it got me to wondering about what your Top 7 Beastie Boys Songs of all time might be?:

I got to say, I'm kinda surprised by this top 7.
I NEVER listen to Licensed to ill... And I find it sad that people remember the beastie boys by this album, when the other albums are so much better (more interesting, more inspiring, etc).

My top 7 would be:
so what'cha want
the sounds of science
the maestro
get it together
super disco breakin'
the brouhaha
sure shot

(really hard to pick only 7)

1- Jimmy James

2- Pass The Mic

3- Posse's in Effect

4- Car Thief

5- Paul Revere

6- 3 Minute Rule

7- The New Style.

Also, I dont mean to call out Frenchgirl, but I dont like the stigma that Licensed to Ill has around these forums. Its one of the best albums of all time.

Oooohhhh so hard!!! Made me think lots... smile onmy face thinking... love these songs, but as a previous poster said, could be subject to change on any given day! ;)

1) Pass the Mic (hands down, all time fave, my soul song)
2) Negotiation Limerick File (would have loved to hear it live...) :(
3) Sure Shot
4) Transitions (hits me hard)
5) Bodhisattva Vow (with Shambala lead-in... perfection when it drops)
6) Shake Your Rump
7) Paul Revere (I can do the whole thing, all 3 parts, without missing a word, but only when I've had a few! lol)

.... and soooo many others.... awesome trip.

At a show in 2003 they were canvassing the crowd before the show asking ppl what they would like to hear them play... it was #1 on my list but they didn't play it :( But it was awesome because they showed the request footage on huge screens during the show and ppl were stoked to hear them play what they'd asked for. Such an effin' cool band... xo
