There's a film fest in San José that gets an okay-to-pretty-decent celebrity to show up each year for a "Maverick" award (they've had, um...
I know William H. Macy; can't think of the others). It's kind of a desperate award thing to draw somebody, etc.

Well, apparently they had a hard time getting their pick to come this year, etc., and then late in the game, they announced none other
than John L.

Leguzimo (sp?)!? What the fuck? Who in the HELL should give a career award to Leguzimo?

Well, after they started advertising this, their apparent first picks -- Danny Glover and Michael Keaton -- confirmed. So now it's kind
of funny because all the advertising has switched to Keaton and Glover and they've stopped mentioning Leguzimo altogether.

Well, I thought it was funny.
