I think Mel was definitely in her 'youngster' look stage before the braces came off. I know how it is, I had braces forever so it gives you that look. However, Mel has always been a gorgeous girl inside and out and well now that the braces are gone and not covering her beautiful teeth the beauty shins out now even more and as she gets older she's just going to be more and more of a knock out.

i remember when i was in 11th grade, my human anatomy teacher was looking at me and all of a sudden, he said "one day you're going to be beautiful.... i don't mean you're not a pretty girl now, but you're one of those girls that has been one of the guys her whole life and has never even tried makeup. in a couple years, you're going to open up and have a lot more confidence, too."


....he really hit the nail on the head. i still don't wear makeup... i don't even own any, actually, but about a year ago i started straightening my hair, i got my braces off in april, and i got contacts last summer...i don't know if i have more confidence. i think i'm just what i should probably call... "an outgoing nerd"

same thing was said to me when I was in high school. I do the make-up thing now but I was definitely one of the guys, and still am now I suppose. But yeah I am a lot more confident than I used to be.

yeah same here. I have maybe two girl friends here and I rarely see them and I seriously doubt we will keep in touch after I move, we aren't close at all. Otherwise I have two great close girl friends in San Diego. That's it.
