Default Bands you liked when you were younger, but now can't stand

Admit it, when you were younger, you liked a bunch of stuff you'd be mortified to admit you liked today. So admit to your worst. Just let it ALL out.

The following bands for me I liked to varying degrees once upon a time, but now I either all-out hate them or are more or less indifferent...

-Dave Matthews Band (I can only tolerate this stuff in doses, so I'll still admit to liking a few tracks, but it's hard to sit through, really)
-Limp Bizkit/Eminem/Kid Rock (meh, this was my "angry suburban white boy" phase. I don't mind Eminem sometimes [e.g. 8 Mile], but the others are downright shameful. Oh well, at least I knew better to not get any Limp Bizkit albums)
-Creed/3 Doors Down (I don't even know why I'm admitting this. All it ever was was just liking some of their singles until all of a sudden that's all you ever saw on MuchMusic and then I turned against it pretty quick)
-Less Than Jake/Sum 41/Me First and the Gimme Gimmes/Smash Mouth/Sugar Ray/Goldfinger, etc. (yeah, I liked some pretty bad pop-punk, ska revival, post-grunge, etc. Ah well, you gotta start somewhere)

That's all I can come up with at the moment. If I think of some more (and perhaps less embarrassing) examples, I'll add them.

hey man, Hang-ups and the self-titled goldfinger were CLASSICS.

and yeah, i think we've all been through a dmb stage.

-rx bandits. local ska scene. trust me, they suck. brings back a lot of fond memories though.
-sublime. uggh. 40 oz to freedom is still listenable, but only with the windows up.

all my friends were into that horrible pop punk before it got big, though. sum 41 - they were at their first american show, at the glasshouse. i even know a lot of the people in their first video. the punker guy making out with the chick in the van? i was making out with him about a month before that. gross. and they liked the ataris (before chris lost weight) and newfound glory and all that crap...but i never got into it. i did like the first blink-182 albums, and i still do, but after dude ranch they got awful.

Are you talking about the video for "Fat Lip"? Or were there videos for their earlier stuff ("Makes No Difference"?)?

As for Goldfinger, I don't mind "Here In Your Bedroom" but that's where it ends. With Rx Bandits, I liked their "Progress" album, though. It was all socially conscious and stuff, so I was all like: "Yeah!"

I still like Blink-182.

Don't like this Angels & Airwaves band, though.

Oh, I have another addition. The Offspring. Dexter Holland needs a sock put in his mouth. Stupid whiney vocals.

But I do like the "Smash" album still...

Jesus christ, that's the second time this week I've been made to feel old. The first time was when I was talking about Alf with my coworker and our boss's daughter had no idea what the hell we were talking about.

Ha! I'm so old that I always hated dmb.

In fact, I'm so old that I liked bands, grew to be embarrassed of them, and now feel nostalgic about them a la Journey.

Off the top of my head:
Van Halen
Bruce Springsteen
Fleetwood Mac
Paul McCartney
Styx

and later:

REM
10,000 Maniacs

I must say that, all in all, I had pretty good taste in music, even as a kid, and most of my old vinyl is still listenable.

So in essence, you've now come full circle?

endless list yo.

Aqua

no wait, i still own their first album and listen to it sometimes. shit.

i remember being an Eminem fan because of The Marshall Mathers LP. it was pretty sad. imagine an eleven year old walking around saying "so you can suck my dick if you don't like my shit, 'cause i was high when i wrote this, so suck my dick". even in school. there was this other girl in my class who was just as fucked up. we used to say these rhymes to each other and think we were the coolest girls on earth. LAAAME.

i'm not a fan anymore, but i still know that album by heart.

All the shitty backstreet boys, spicegirls crap when your are 7 years old..

- Bloodhoundgang (they really sucked after Hooray For Boobies)
- Alien Ant Farm
- Metallica (old stuff is still cool though)
- Lost Prophets (their latest cd is pure shame)
- lots of stuff that has long been forgotten..

I still like Limp Bizkit (and sometimes wear my Bizkit shirt) their first two cd's are really good and The Incredible Truth Part 1 was nice with Wes on guitar again.

Regardless of whether we all admit it, most of us were into Limp Bizkit and that whole shitty movement. I know I was, I saw them live 3 times in high school.

They were the biggest band in the world for a few minutes there.

And they definitely fell the hardest.

I blame 9/11. After that, ain't nobody wanna hear that bullshit.

Limp Bizkit ???

One of them even went to the same highschool that I did much later on after I myself graduated in '88.

I've only liked just a couple of songs or so by them.
