Next door

I live next door to a Chinese Takeaway - well not quite next door there is a ten yard gap but still its next door. When I first viewed my house I was like - no fuckin way am i livin there, I thought it would smell and there would be loads of people knockin about all the time but I was wrong. It doesnt smell, it gets quite busy but nothing really affects us apart from not always being able to park our car and we get discount!The foods really nice but I make sure I dont go too much for the health factor.
I just wondered if anybody else lives next door to or above/below some sort of commercial establishment and what the pros/cons are

When i was at uni i lived in a flat above a gun shop. I think it was called 'gun shop'. Anywho, at night when the dozen pubs also nearby turned out people would stand outside the shop window (which was directly below my bedroom window) going "look at the size of that gun!", "i want one!" and making gun type noises.

Next door to the gun shop was a jewellers and one night there was an attempted break in by baseball bat carrying men wearing balaclavas.

My mum was so pleased i was living there. :/

I've never lived next to any businesses but, 5 of the houses I've lived in had a set of railroad tracks right by them. I think I'd prefer a noisy buisness over a 2 mile long Conrail going 90 in the middle of the night.
