Yesssss, finally!

Yeah, I really REALLY dislike her character.

Like when she told Sayid to kill Locke, etc. The kind of girl that will use the fact that she IS a girl to manipulate then completely dump others when they are no longer of use to her and is aware that she does it, and is completely okay with it, and in fact, extremely happy with it.

Girls and guys that manipulate like that, argh! I want to punch her face in haha. It's funny when things that people don't like (personally) show when there is a character like that in a movie or show.

Possible BIG spoiler for this week's episode:

from the boards:
"Hurly is assigned the task of manning the computer while Desmond goes outside with the other survivors to look for something (I'm not sure what they are looking for). It is up to Hurly to make sure that count down is reset every 108 minutes. In his exploration of the hatch, Hurly finds food and drink down in the hatch and he ends up spilling a drink on the computer (again blaiming his bad luck). Jack Desmond and locke come back to the hatch to see that the computer is destroyed and the count down can no longer be reset. Desmond informs them that they are all going to die but we dont find out exactly why. Jack then has a flash back and remembers that Desmond was right about his wifes legs and he panics that he is right about this too. Jack starts to cry and panic and all of a sudden Desmond botls for the door and thats where the episode ends. It ends looking at the counter going down to 45, 44, 43, 42 seconds left. And the 42 is the last number you see. 42 go figure. Where have we seen that before?"

the poster claims to have recieved this sketchy info from a "reliable source"..
sounds a tad hokey....but the name of this weeks episode IS "Everyone hates Hugo"

"...The preview definitely shows Hurley walking out of the store room where the food is in the hatch. This could be right. And it could be where the episode "Everybody hates Hugo" gets its title. It also showed Desmond running through the woods."

how the fuck is Hurley gonna fit down that hatch? i wouldn't buy it at all except that the title of the episode does give it some credibility....

more season 2 Spoilers!*****

General Season 2 spoilers:

- We'll find out that the Others have killed the other survivors of Flight 815.

- Lindelof reveals: [Season 2 will cover] roughly the next 45 or 50 days. We’re sticking to the same brand of storytelling and not taking bold jumps forward. Probably by the end of season two we’ll be in the range of day 90. The issue of what made Flight 815 crash is going to be dealt with in season two and definitively answered by the end of season two.
-We're only sort of stating on the record, for sure, that Michelle Rodriguez was in the back of the plane, but we haven't gone on record saying we're meeting any other survivors, if there were any other survivors from the back of the plane. But I think the show is sort of built around the idea of meeting somebody, making sort of a snap judgment about them and then gradually exploring their lives before the crash to get a better sense of who they are and what drives them, and I think every character we meet on the show will eventually get a flashback... unless they blow up first, in which case, we never get around to it. [Hurley getting a love interest is] definitely something we've thought a lot about and nothing that we wanna force. There are a couple women characters we're introducing on the island over the course of the season who we do not know who they're going to end up with.

-We're doing 23 [episodes] this year. [Rose is] back for season two. You're gonna be seeing a lot of her. There is going to be a flashback story that fully explains the significance of all [Jack's] tattoos and puts it into the framework of what was happening in his life when he got them. You'll probably be seeing it in season two, but if not, very early in season three. Right now the plan is to do it this year. We're doing a Sun flashback story [soon this season]. I think we probably will [see Boone this season]. [23] is an important number in terms of the scheme of the show.

- Locke gets a love interest.

-The survivors will accept that they're not leaving the island anytime soon. That means deeper relationships — and some serious romantic entanglements.

-Backstories will further illuminate Jack's marriage, Sawyer's life as a con man, and Kate's criminal history. The tension simmering between Jack and Locke, meanwhile, will explode into an epic faith-versus-reason battle.

- Series co-creator David Lindelof said Vincent "will play a big part" in the series' second season.

The second year is going to go deeper and deeper into where they are and where that's going to take them," [Matthew] Fox said of the show's characters. As for Fox's Dr. Jack Shepherd, the second season will bring on a search for spirituality. "Even though he is a very strict man of science, he's going to have to wake up to the reality of the world that he's operating in," Fox revealed. But don't assume all of the "Lost" clan will make it through to the end. "That's always going to be part of 'Lost,'" Fox insisted. "You are going to get attached to certain people, and you are going to lose them. That's the truth of this story."

-About the Lost death: Female. October (I think, at least that was the original plan). NOT at the hands of the “monster.” And also … another one bites the dust ... a male cast member is leaving the show for good. But this one WON'T be a death. I hear [there will be about] 5 to 8 [new characters], and some (most?) of them are buddy-buddy with Ana-Lucia, who’s living a harsh existence elsewhere on the island. Also, Kate is going to run into a bit of life-threatening peril …

Ana-Lucia’s arrival on the island will turn the Jack-Kate-Sawyer triangle into "a romantic trapezoid," Lindelof says. -

Ana-Lucia had her whole own second show going on, we just weren't watching it. So, when she joins the cast, she has two backstories: (1) everything that happened pre-crash, and (2) everything that happened between the crash and when we meet her. We're gonna tell that story in one awesome concept episode.

- Dominic Managhan (Charlie) said: "Charlie and Locke are going to re-explore their relationship. They kinda started doin' that in the early part of the show. Locke kinda became Charlie's mentor a little bit. And I think Charlie's obviously gonna be struggling with the fact that there's now heroine on the island, and kind of a huge supply of heroine, so he has to deal with those demons. Also, the baby's gonna play a big part in his life, as is Claire.

- The person who'll die is a major character like Boone not like Arzt. I just got confirmation that a female is indeed biting it this season.

- More screen time for Sun and Jin, I'm hearing. Rose will not die.

- The female death is not going to happen until at least October, I'm told. I'm not aware of what will happen to Rousseau, but can tell you, that's not whom I'm talking about.

- Quotes from Lindelof and Grillo-Marxuach at a Lost convention: We won't kill Sawyer. The plane did not crash by accident, it crashed for a very specific reason. But he dismissed speculation that someone aboard the plane caused the crash. What's in the hatch will have an effect on Locke.

- I believe Mira Furlan (Rousseau) will be back but so far, not full-season contract.... Jin's getting an ever BIGGER part next season. One final note to those of you freaking out that Naveen Andrews is going to be written off: I really don't think Sayid dies. That is not the cast member I was talking about who's getting written off around October.

- Sharp-eyed viewers may have noticed something about the people on the boat, but if not, [Josh] Holloway says, "There were twins, which I don't know if you could tell. They were identical twins, which was really spooky. There again, that wasn't emphasized."

- Cocreator Damon Lindelof reveals that the transmission and its source will play one of the most important pieces of plot for season 2.

- So far, the focus has been on only 14 of the 48 crash survivors, but that'll soon change. "The population of the island will be shaken up," Abrams says, revealing he's now casting new second-season regulars. "Not everyone will be coming back, and other people will be stepping up. Also, the survivors have explored almost none of the island, so next year becomes more mission-driven.

I think...I have just stopped caring about this show. I didn't even remember it was on tonight untill someone told me. Tonight's episode was definetly better than the last, but I still didn't think it was very good. Lots of problems. The main one, is that they won't tell us jack shit, and then suddenly we get ten billion answers at once?? The backstories are becoming completely pointless, I love Locke, but finding out that he was pissed about his kidney, didn't really deserve a whole episode. It's like they can't find any balance.

And how obvious was it what what's her face was in the pit for with Sawyer and the others? Ugh, so stupid.

The only thing that excited me was Jin talking english in the promo for next week.

not every back story is supposed to "clue you in" about key plot elements, etc. sometimes it's just character development...allowing to actually know the character, so you give a shit about them.

so check this shit out:

http://www.thehansofoundation.org/

the Hanso foundation from the filmstrip in last nights episode.

on the active projects page, http://www.thehansofoundation.org/activeproject.html
you see all the clues we need to start piecing this plot together:

The Hanso Life-Extension Project
(some people in this show are alot older than they appear)

The Hanso Foundation Electromagnetic Research Initiative
(electromagnetics have been theorized to to be able to control thought pattersn in humans...and guess what Megahertz quantity is the frequency used? 108!...the sum of the "numbers". that could what they are typing into that computer in the hatch....this is why the survivors are "seeing things" like jacks dead father and shannon seeing walt and those hallucinations that Boone and locke had last season, hearing whispering voices. how much of what were shown could have actually been hallucinations induced by the electronmangentic being controlled in the hatch? )

The Hanso Quest for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence
(oh lord..who knows....could be a red herring)

The Hanso Mathematical Forecasting Initiative
(to go along with the ching Li.... another possible use for those "numbers". the controlling of fate by mathmatical forecasting....this is how all of these strange coincidences keep happening..)

The Hanso Cryogenics Development Imperative
(red herring?)

The Hanso Juxtapositional Eugenics Development Institute
(this meaning "screwing with nature"- polar bears on a tropical island. the Others being so damn strong, like Ethan)

The Hanso Accelerated Remote Viewing Training Facility
(this crazy shit. anyone see that movie "Suspect Zero"? Remote viewing is gonna play a role in this show....Walt?)

Sun's father is part of the Hanso Organization, and is offiliated with the Dharma project. thus Jin is connected as well. Jin knows alot more about what's going on then we think. and it appears he can speak english perfectly (the promo for next week).
i beleive that all of the survivors are connected to the Hanso corporation in some way.

Locke's father is the same man who conned Sawyer's parents when he was a child.

"24 times 60 = 1440 min in a day
1440 divided by 108 = 13.333333 button pushes a day
13.333333 times 9 = 120 first multipal with no decimal
also = 4 months
540 divided by 120 = 4.5
4.5 times 108 = 24

go to: http://www.oceanicflight815.com/

click on the barcode at the bottom.

you get a rough draft of...a future script?

last month you got rough script that had Jack getting tackled by an apparent clone of himself...

this month, you get a rough script for...well...and apparent zombie movie....

wtf? this has got to be a joke by the producers....

that's 90% of television.
It's just insulting though when someone says "wow, that line was kind of a clunker" and someone else says "well why don't you go watch Friends/CSI:NY/ Survivor instead?"

Also, I'm pretty sure the script pages are fake. Although zombies on Craphole Island would be so cool.

All right, I finished the entire first season of the DVD. I also managed to tape the 3rd episode of this current season (it replayed on Saturday). I caught up with the events of the first two episodes via episode guides, so I'd say I'm (mostly) up to date!

I got a question about the events of the first two episodes...

Ok, so the dudes in the motorboat who kidnapped Walt and torched Michael's raft... they're "the others," right? If they are, they sure travelled a long ways to track down the raft, didn't they? What's the motivation for making people stay on the island... or is this not revealed yet? Do we know why they chose to kidnap Walt or is this to be determined?

Thanks in advance...

I'm not supposed to be posting but oh well.

Finally a good episode in season 2! I knew it would come along eventually. I really enjoyed it. I hate Jack now though - Hurley, nobody gets food untill you're done, uh sorry bout that! So lame. But it was cool that he accepted Hurley's choice to just give it to everybody. That's what I was hoping for was like a big feast. And the peanut butter thing, SO CUTE! Charlie didn't ask for anything for himself, just for Claire!

So I think personally that the other survivors who are dead or whatever might have gotten "sick" like the French chick talked about. I'm glad they showed Bernard too.

And I was like whaaa? when I saw Margerite Moroue's name because she's in my favorite movie everrrr and i got to meet her once, so it was cool seeing her as Hurley's crush girl.

I hate Michelle Rodriguez. Ugh!

Well, the end of the episode is why I really like this show. Those moments it shows with everyone, you can't hear what anyone is saying, and music plays over all of it. You get the sense that they are bonding together because of this experience, and Sun buries the bottle. Great stuff man.

Alright....here's what I think :

The Korean couple KNOW much more than they are saying. On the DVD, the dude speaks perfect English, so it was not as much of a shock to me seeing him speak it in the episode last night.

My guess is that the Koreans were sent to sabotage the plane so that her father could keep the Hanso thing going. The whole island is like an obseravable laboratory (like Pavlov's dogs writ large).

All of them are being observed and their reactions are being recorded and scrutinized.

I think ALL the survivors from the plane crash are gonna link up and we'll find ANOTHER hatch. Remember from the training video that there are, I think, 5 of those things around the island....

So....lots left to explore. More people are gonna get sick and die and there'll be outright warfare between a few competing "tribes" that break off from each other (kinda like Lord of the Flies).

Anyhow, I LOVE this freaking show.

And, BTW, the guy in the chicken costume was Hugo's boss (hahaha) at his job.

Wait, where on the DVD does it have Jin speaking English?

I know the actor (Daniel Dae Kim) speaks perfect English, but we haven't seen any indicators of whether his character knows the language.

Nevertheless, I wouldn't be surprised if he actually knows English (perhaps keeping it secret from his own wife... oh what a tangled web).

I've got a thought of my own... you know these "numbers" and you have to enter them every 108 minutes or something happens (like blowing up the island or whatever). Anyone here not buy it? I'm personally in agreement with Jack when he said it's just a psychological experiment to see if someone would actually do this. I dunno, I really doubt if anything would happen.

We'll see...

I think that's what he meant, he probably meant on the commentary or extras he saw the guy speaking English so he was just used to it. Jin hasn't done it before on the show.

I dunno about that. In the "Lost" world, isn't/wasn't Driveshaft pretty huge? So it's not like it's a leap that Hurley would listen to the CD, since Hurley's a big music fan.

Perhaps. But out of a show with so many fantastical things going down, the one thing that gets you down is that Hurley made fun of a band and then goes on the same flight with the member of said group he made fun of?

The thing that bothers me about it is it seems like they were trying too hard to connect these two characters in pre-island life (especially since they've already connected them. They've also connected Locke and Hurley twice, but that was actually kinda cool and certainly less forced). Besides, I don't mind that Hurley made fun of Charlie's band. Driveshaft really would suck if they were a real band.

Connection #1: In locke's first flashback episode we learn that he worked for a box company. In Hurley's season 1 flashback we learned that after he won the lottery he came to own a box company. Even though I don't think it was stated that Hurley owned the company that Locke worked for, it's Lost, and there's no way that's just coincidence, so it extremely doubtful that Hurley owned a different box company.

Connection #2: In Hurley's most recent episode (last week's) we learn that his boss at the chicken place was Locke's mean boss at the box company. That Hurley later came to own.

Connection #2: In Hurley's most recent episode (last week's) we learn that his boss at the chicken place was Locke's mean boss at the box company. That Hurley later came to own.

Shit I can't believe I didn't recognize that guy - duh.

Sawyer's become a total pussy in the past episodes. Lametown.

I've lost (LOL) most of the interest I had in the show - like now, I watch the episodes every week but I've found myself just not really caring any more. I donno.

you're so....so...progressive.
so "counter culture"...
cool.
As much as I would like to be "hip" and "counter culture" I can tell ya it ain't the case.
i bet you hate desparate housewives too...
and...and....CSI...
yeah...
I've never seen DH, but from the commercials I've seen...meh. I remember one last season where the narrator was saying "tune in to Desperate Houswives and see the infidelity, murder, infidelity, fighting, infidelity, and fashion shows!" (for some reason there was a fashion show in that episode  ) And I like CSI and CSI:Miami. But not CSI:New York, that shit's weak.
and i bet you think the Daily Show is getting too preachy too...
and....and....
NEVER! Jon Stewart hasn't let me down yet, man.
no, you shut up.

Tonight's episode was awesome! I really liked Jin's and Sun's flashback of how the two met. :)
Yeah, those two are the only ones with consistently good flashbacks. Of course, we haven't seen Shannon's yet, so maybe that will live up to the coolness that was Boone's episode.

Tonight's episode was awesome! I really liked Jin's and Sun's flashback of how the two met. :) i actually find those 2 to be the most uninteresting....
but i think that they will eventually play a HUGE role in why they are all there.

And man, I hate Michelle Rodriguez's character. What a bitch! (n) yeah, after last night...i gotta say her character is really underdone and shallow. she is once again being type cast as the "tough bitchy chick who don't take guff from anyone".
when they showed her meeting jack at the airport last year, i was happy to see her playing a femanine role, sorty cutsey....and was hoping we were gonna get to see her play THAT kinda role for once.
maybe they'll let her character lighten up when she meets jack again.

so, I just realized I really don't ever watch TV because when they said "in 3 weeks" I was like, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT SHIT?!

my boyfriend said they always do that, to stretch it out. I didn't know that. That's some freagin crap man.

Also, the last episode was lame as hell, which makes me more mad that it won't be on again for three weeks. I was bored by the episode; we didn't really find out anything new, it was slow, and nothing was resolved. Jin & Son? blah blah I don't care :/ It's not like I expect the entire thing to be resolved but usually there is a subplot or something that is resolved within the episode. Blah!

When I think of Shannon dying, all I can hear in my head is "ding dong the witch is dead..."

:D

Bob

basically, all we learned from last night's episode was that the others don't leave footsteps and one of them carries a teddy bear on a string. and from the teaser, that someone's gonna die next time.

did anyone bother to count how many others walked by? i bet it was either 8, 15, or 16. because it all comes back to the numbers somehow, i'm sure.

4 8 15 16 23 42

there were 23 survivors in the tail crash. there are about 42 survivors in the other crash (someone, i think sawyer, said there were 43, but since someone's about to die, that will bring it down to 42). and who knows what the other numbers mean, but i'll bet it's something. no way that's an accident.

i post on another forum where people are way more in to detail than me, they made this wiki:

http://tviv.org/wiki/Lost

and they had this to say about the numbers

4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42

* The numbers are always in order.
* Numbers on the bottles of stuff Desmond injects himself with were “CR4-81516-23 42”.
* Desmond types these into the bunker computer to reset a countdown timer.

4

* When being lowered into the hatch shaft, Kate counts to 5 to make her fear go away. She gets to 4 before the light goes on.

8

* Sara’s wedding was to take place 8 months after her crash.
* The number of the crash cart in Sara’s room.
* Hurley was accused of eating an 8-piece dark meat combo the day he quit working at Mr. Clucks Chicken Shack.

15

* At the corner of the shot showing Jack going up and down the stadium stairs

16

* The speed Desmond was going on his exercise bike in the bunker.
* At the corner of the shot showing Jack going up and down the stadium stairs
* Number of people in Locke’s anger management group

23

* One of the numbers on Desmond’s combination lock for a weapons locker in the bunker
* Jack trips and injures his ankle at row 23.
* The number of initial survivors from the tail section of the plane.

42

* Since winning the lottery, Hurley increased his net worth by 42 million dollars at the time of the crash.
* One of the numbers on Desmond’s combination lock for a weapons locker in the bunker
* Seen on the mural on the wall in the bunker

815

* Time of death of Adam Rutherford.

108

* The sum of all the cursed numbers, and written twice on the mural in the “Swan” bunker
* After the sequence is entered into the computer, the timer resets to 108 minutes.
* The initial stay in the “Swan” bunker was going to be 540 days, or 5 * 108.

another thing about 815 is that that's the number of the flight that crashed. which is interesting for i don't know what reason

Q, I know that there are billions and billions of people watching the show now, but I feel that eventually there are going to be more people like myself and Dandy (The "Come on, you gotta reveal SOMETHING eventually" population) and less people like yourself (It's a great show, and they can string me along as long as they want).

They way the are progressing the story, they are banking on this thing having at least an 8-10 season run. I just pray that the ratings don't start to dip too far down.

By all means, the show keeps me more than entertained, but it seems every Wednesday, after the credits roll, I'm constatnly saying "Huh? That's all we're getting this week?"

I fear 3 years from now the show getting canceled, and all of us still not knowing who The Others are, Michael still searching for Walt, still not knowing why they have to keep the "108" counter going, etc, etc, etc.

We have so many unanswered questions, But at least we know that Locke's manager at the box place is the same guy the managed the chicken place that Hurley worked at.

Can you have product-placement for a product that doesn't exist? ABC thinks so.

In an eerie synergy, scribes for ABC's "Lost" will soon be writing a subplot about a character named Gary Troup who didn't survive the crash but left behind a manuscript he was working on.

Troup is fictional, of course, and so is his supposed novel. But ABC sister company Hyperion Books will publish the "found" manuscript, in the hope of turning a fictional product-placement into a real one.

Working with writers from the skeinskein, Hyperion has commissioned a novel by a "well-known" mystery writer -- it's not saying who -- that supposedly constitutes the book.

Move may be the first to use made-up TV events and characters as the basis for a real-life campaign. Book will be marketed as the work of an author who "delivered (his book) to Hyperion just days before Troup boarded Oceanic Flight 815."

Hyperion did engage in a similar but scaled-down project for tie-in to TV minimini "Rose Red."

The "Lost" novel, titled "Bad Twin," is a P.I. procedural involving a wealthy heir's search for his nefarious brother. It will be released this spring in conjunction with skein's related episodes.

If the backstory offers enough complexity to require an Advil (or whatever one takes for a postmodern headache), Hyperion prexyprexy Bob Miller says he still thinks gambit could pique viewers. "Fans of the show are obsessive. We think a lot of them will be buying the book just to look for clues."

I already knew it would be Shannon, but I didn't read any spoilers about how she would croak (okay, I knew it would be murder, but I didn't know any other specifics) and I didn't know who the killer would be and I still called it twenty minutes before it happened. I really wouldn't mind it either if people wouldn't act like it was so edgy and unpredictable.

With all that said I thought it was one of the best episode so far this season, even though I'm kinda pissed that Shannon's dead. Especially that look on Sayid's face at the end. Fucking Ana Lucia.

You know, I usually don't predict anything that's going to happen, but I put absolutely no effort into that...I don't think the show's very "edgy" or anything, but I usually just....don't care enough, I don't know.

I do think this was one of the best this season.

And

SPOILER ALERT

although it's already been said pretty much

i'm so fucking happy she's dead. She's a horrible actress (yes, I know others are also bad), but I couldn't handle her "ultimatum" bullshit every other second (writing, not acting, but she still sucks).

Apart from the losers who posted spoilers ( ), I was thinking Sawyer was gonna die since the promos made it seem that way.

Nevertheless, it was a shock for me to see Shannon go, so none of you suckahs can ruin this show for me.

I fucking HATE Ana Lucia. Maybe she will become more likeable in the next episode (which seems to be a flashback of how these OTHER survivors were managing when the tail broke off). But for now, she really needs to have her mouth taped shut!

P.S. - What happened to Jack in this episode?

whenever the promos seem to indicate something's going to happen, or it seems like something's obviously going to happen halfway into the episode, that's usually a good indicator that it's probably not going to happen. sometimes they switch it up though, like the one where sawyer kills the shrimp guy. it seems like he's going to kill him, then he doesn't kill him, but then he changes his mind and kills him after all. but my point is, when it seems like something's logically going to happen, it most likely isn't going to happen, at least not immediately.

the bitch deserved to die. Walt was doing the finger to the mouth "sshhhhhh" thing and she was just yelling away.

At least Sayid got to taste the goods. Brown Power!

Why is Walt always wet when he magically appears? When he came to the tent...I could understand since the others came from the water to off that dude last time. And later on in the episode it was raining...so it made sense. But the first time she saw him he was drippin' and it wasn't raining or anything right?

I heard that he was originally supposed to, and then strap some dynamite to himself and jump on Michele Rodriguez. But they cut it out of the script because they wanted to keep Rodriguez around to take place of the woman everyone hates since Shannon is gone.

Just to be (semi) serious for a moment here...

Shannon said to Sayid that once they manage to leave the island, he's just gonna leave her because it's only a fling or whatever, etc.

Sayid implicitly denied all this and said he loved her.

I gotta wonder... I think Shannon was right. I mean, if they ever do manage to be rescued, Sayid is just gonna find that woman from Iraq (Nadia) and Shannon would be history.

I guess it's all convenient now that she's dead.

And I REALLY wonder how Ana Lucia will be received by the other survivors. She's gotta be hated for doing that (even if it was an accident). She should probably let herself be eaten by that monster thing...

Rock
11-10-2005, 12:50 PM
Thats another part they cut out. He does say "I love you" but then he was originally supposed to look to the side towards another camera, Mr. Roper style, and say "....when we are getting all sweaty together like a couple of rats in a sock under a heat lamp".

But you are right... he would have went looking for Nadia. But then again he comes across as a noble man so I could see him staying with Shannon for a while after he got off the island. Then when he finally finds Nadia he would start making fat jokes and treating Shannon like shit so she would leave him and then he wins both ways. Keeping his word about staying with Shannon (since she would leave him), and getting him some Iraqi poon.

about Shannon:

does anyone else feel like the writers attempt at her backstory, and her death seemed too rushed?

i mean....the flashbacks showed a decidely softer, more innocent side of shannon's past, and her strifes....laying the groundwork for her future personality shift.
but we never get to see the shift from her being a promising young go-getter....to a bitchy free-loading, con-women....nor do we get to see her relationship with Boone go from close to strained...leading up to her and her boyfriend conning him for cash...
before any of that could be done....she was dead.

while i didn't like shannon...i thought the writers could have done a better job of explaining her...giving her more depth.....letting us perhaps care about her more before they just blew her chest away.

Mayhaps there will be some flashbacks when they show her slowly dying after the other section of the plane backstory. OOOOORRRRR since everyone seems to be connected, what about someone from the tail end end up knowing her? and we get a flashback from them.

Now that I think about it...do we really need more? she was a "good" girl, got fucked over, so she turned "bad". I think they showed enough for us to see how she got there....kinda sorta.

they certainly don't (didn't) NEED to give more backstory/character developemnt...

MY CANDYBAR THEORY

Posted: Nov 10 @ 11:17 AM
by: theroshow
Rose saved a candybar from the hatch for her husband. But it's hot on the island - as attested to by the fact that they hang their clothes up to dry. Which means the candybar would melt. Why would she save a candybar that would be inedible by the time her husband and her are reunited? This MUST mean that Shannon was stabbed, not shot.

Aren't there candy bars made for the military that don't melt easily? You know. Like if there was a war in Iraq or something. Easily perishible food would not be used in a bunker. All that food had to last for a very long time. Even the candy bars.

Ana Lucia is such a dumb fuck. Remember when she was talking about how the othes are quiet ad stealthy? So then she shoots a screaming girl who's running loudly through the foliage.Screaming the name of the missing son of one of the men with them. what a tard, I want Sayid to kill her, but he probably won't. She's soo bad she actually makes me like Kate. :p

Also, I don't know if anyone caught this, but I think I noticed a HUGE discrepancy in the timeline. Desmond said he'd been on the island for three years, correct? We know he was still in the states when Shannon's father died, because we saw him in Jack's flashback. However Shannon was eighteen when that happened and I think she was twenty when she died, meaning it's only been two years since the accident. Sooooo, if that's not just a mistake by whoever wrote that episode that might be some sort of clue to whatever is going on on the island. The former is more likely, though.
