After my cut of his paycheck, there's still plenty left over, so he could be worth the $40 when you factor that in. |

It is assumed the buyer is responcible for feeding/clothing Beths husband and we assume this costs approx $5 per day. We seek a 5 year pay back period on investment. We discount income at 10% which incorperates risk analysis of Beths husband becoming unemployed. Interest rates at around 5% Beths Husband depreciates as an asset at 5% pa Scrap value = $0 The buyer would require $1929.47 of Beths husbands annual income to achieve break even in the five year period. Further Net present value analysis is not possible without knowing the number of working years remaining in the asset. If the buyer is responcible for maintaining the asset in retirement a far greater proportion of income will be required. For example if the asset is 30 years old and is expected to retire at 65 and be obselete age 75 one would require $2336.54 of the annual salary in order to break even. Under these circumstances 5% annual return can be made on $40 investment with $2373.42 of the assets income. That is all

You'll have to recalculate using aforementioned factors from this thread and the fact that he lies frequently about stuff that is stupid to lie about. However, catching him in the lies, which is quite easy, results in him not bitching about the new pairs of shoes that appear in the closet, which of course is a huge benefit. |

![]() I see, I clearly have underestimated shoe expenditure by several orders of magnitude.
I had rather assumed that as the owner of Mr. Beth you would retain all the income except the small fraction required for the assets maintenance. I have clearly let you down and offer my resignation as a financial advisor in this matter.
