Also, lolz at United Statesians desperately clinging on to some sort of notion that despite the fact that their last ancestors travelled over from Europe 100 years ago, that deep down they are in fact 50% Irish.

Re: The Family Album
are you saying that irish americans aren't irish anymore? that americans that came over from europe during the turn of last century eventually lost all of their national characteristics and we all are kinda the same?

Re: The Family Album
I do not consider myself even 1% Irish, despite my relatives coming over to the UK from Ireland 4 generations ago. We all originate from Africa, but it doesn't make me fucking Nigerian.

Re: The Family Album
i mean they're not irish in teh sense of having the same characteristics of irish living in ireland. they have been americanized while still retaining their irish accents(and i don't mean their voices). but people of different nationalities are still strikingly different from other nationalities.
people of certain nationalities still tend to congregate in their own neighborhoods and even whole towns. there's towns around here that are mostly polish or portugese or jewish, and so on. there's strong differences between these people and towns. those characteristics are not gonna be fully lost in the course of only a 100 years Last edited by TurdBerglar : 03-17-2009 at 02:28 PM. |
