Mistakes aren't a big deal, not putting any effort into typing whatsoever can get kind of annoying though. I mod a site with many many british teenagers that type in text speak. It's just plain rude to make me decipher your post because you use iz, h8, neway, innit?

Having said that posting without caps, interpunction and with spelling errors makes it easier for a person that doesn't agree with you to dismiss any point you make and point out poor spelling.

Yeah. Those people are watching your grammar errors from close and don't doubt that it's gonna be the first thing they will use to attack you back whenever they have something against you.

It's like when you are a kid or a teenager. The first thing they will say immediately turns to the way you look and secondly your intelligence. Like, "I don't agree with you on shoes!" come back: "Well, you're ugly!"

I don't really point out mistakes because I OFTEN have mistakes.

But when someone has mistakes, oh, I don't know, at least 3 times within one post they make, I really, REALLY want to fix them. It's an impulse. Especially if they are trying to make a point and calling everyone else dumb.

It baffles me.

it's automated on my email program...just like MS Word.

Yeah...

I can't believe people write things, read it back and it makes perfect sense to them even if half the words are misspelled.

If I notice that a sentence doesn't "flow" properly or if I forgot a word somewhere I edit it and fix it. Hell I did it twice in this thread.

Not saying that I don't make mistakes... but I make an effort not to make them.
