man, i think i really really want to do this. i've never really looked into what job i wanted when i got older. but now, i think this is what i really want to do. what else could get me started to becoming a make-up artist besides cosmetology classes?

a couple of my friends are/are training to be makeup artists though. they can do regular makeup but the course also involves heaps of special effects makeup. looks fun.
they are both very artistic people with steady hands. two things i am not, otherwise i think it would be awesome.

I've worked with plenty of make up artists on various shoots. It seems like a fun job.
You get to take the piss out of the models (when they are elsewhere), flirt with the art directors and photographers, eat from lavish buffets oh and sometimes you slap a bit of war paint on the models.

i'm 21 and i dont have any idea what i want to do when i grow up. my dad is 41 and he's not sure either. although i think he's leaning towards garbage truck man. i think my best option is to sexy up and find a rich husband. hey, bbb, wanna do my makeup?

i say you just start doing it.
start doing people's make-up and cataloging it. learn the basics and start working with photographers, students and amateurs. do make-up for them for free at first, then just really cheap. get credentials and sample material to get more jobs and move up - get pics. make a portfolio. get a website and start working. keep adding to portfolio. boom.

i only really like putting make up on my eyes, i feel gross when i put powder on my face and such. even though i still wear it most of the time.
