Where would you choose to live?

For me,

1. NYC - Penthouse Loft in the Village or Central Park East.
2. Italian Rivera - One of those sprawling Villas right on the Ocean.
3. Scotland - A Castle near a lake. I've been there once when I was a kid and Scotland is one of the most beautiful countrysides you'll ever see.


Just missing the cut were a place in the hills of Japan, Kauai Hawaii, San Francisco, a Lake House in Canada.

I'd go with a place in NY as well, probably Upper East, near the museums and with a nice view of the park.

For my 'beach house', I'm thinking a little town on the Costa Brava called Aiguablava.

Finally I'll need a mountain house. I'm thinking somewhere in the Alps, possibly somewhere in Germany.

I thought about Japan as well but I have to say having been there, I loved visiting but I don't know that it's a place I'd really want to live, per se. But I figure if I is so damn rich I got me three houses all over the place anyway, then I fer damn sure can afford to go there and visit, right?

Oh also I just remembered I might need to have a villa in Tuscany, too. So I need four houses, then, really.

Mountains-i read bhutan is the most beautiful place on earth but i figure if i've got a house in the mountains it's gotta have great snowboarding potential nearby too and i'm not sure if bhutan has that.

I'd have a large loft in Stockholm with a huge roof garden, preferable by Mosebacke or somewhere near Slussen.
A country mansion in Milton Keynes (east side of the canal) which my kid sister could take care of when I'm not there.
A luxury Winnebago-type house on wheels so I can travel all around the world and have my house with me, like a snail.

That is an amazing idea-i used to be one ofthe great hoards of (new age-apparently)travellers in this country-living in various trailers,buses,trucks etc and i always said if i ever got rich i'd have a totally luxurious, bloody massive truck. just not very eco-friendly tho really. i would like all my residences to be self-sufficient.

I'd also like a palatial villa overlooking the port in Mahon, Menorca.

And i really don't think i could leave my roots behind, so i'd pick a cosy cottage in the Yorkshire Dales.
