My son is working the summer between terms at a place that has an arcade.

He takes photographs and then tries to get people to put them on keychains and magnets.

Some cameras are positioned over the rides and they snap photos automatically every 36 seconds. Girls flash those cameras routinely.
He likes the job alright.

Anyway, the organization sends in commandos dressed in civies to nab the workers who fall for things like ^^^.

They also send in those commandos to specifically give the photographers a hard time to see how they work it all out.

Tha there are four babies nailed to boards in various forms of torture. It was a piece about the pain of losing one's innocence. It was very brutal. The one with the stomach cut open had actually cow kidney and heart inside.

That's why I've been hesitate in using the swastika and thus no symbol in there yet.

I pulled out most of the cotton and then cut up small pieces of kidney and heart and just shoved it in there. I also had red dyed hot dogs mushed up and placed inside the cut-up limbs of the other two, which are not in picture. Those kept falling out as the four boards were hung from a wooden beam. NEedless to say, the project sparked some serious stuff and I had to endure personal attacks from fellow mates. I grew depressed and seriously questioned myself as an artist and whether or not I could continue. I felt really terrible for some time. I'm quite good with criticism, but this was just a lot of noise and attacks, not criticism of the piece itself.

Well, I wanted it to be as painful as it could be and I thought just leaving cotton out would be a bit...blah. So I wanted it to be like the real insides of a being. I didn't go for shock value, but it can easily be assumed to be for just shock value. It had to be brutal and disgusting and I felt something like the kidney and such (I also used small bits of red dyed scrambled eggs) would help.

The bloody things stank and really disgusting. When I have this up for my show in the fall (along with tons of my other work), I'll be putting the kidney in a clear baggie so it won't be smelling really bad and causing a problem. I just hope no one hurts themselves on the barbed wire wrapped around the neck of the "hitler baby".

Homsar, well, like with the swastica the trouble with using strong objects, symbols and controversial things in general is that you do seem to go for shock value and instead of making your point stronger people will disregard it completely.

This is however only my personal opinion, a very uneducated one at that :)

The dolls are an art piece. I don't like the piece because it is a very difficult thing to look at. It's a very personal thing, the loss of childhood innocence (or innocence altogether). It was a very painful experience.

Engaging in it for most of your life and only as a teenager do you find out how wrong it is and how it has seriously fucked you up. You then struggle to stop doing something that now has become a habit/addiction and continue to fight this serious problem to this very date. It has fucked me up in how I interact with others and such. That'd make a great novel or film.
I should base my next film on that...oh wait, I did already.

I don't reply to all pictures because sometimes I'm not in the mood or sometimes (and that's rare, really rare) I think the person is ugly and I don't even know them plus, I'm not P of R who replies to all pictures basically (hihihi:D), but this is a "welcome to the family" kinda thread, so I don't feel like breaking the cicle. I don't want to. I'm not interested in doing it so.

Maybe we could have a thread "Am I hot or not" or "analyse my ass". That'd be fun.:o:D

I decided to post my pic at hotornot.com (with the dolls in the pic) and so far my highest is a 7, but I'm getting 3's and 4's. I didn't need them to tell me I'm an unattractive bloc.
but, isn't that the point of putting your pic on hotornot? i mean, if the scale slides from 1-10, then you are opening yourself up to ridicule... if you didn't need them to tell you you are unattractive, then you shouldn't have posted your pic there at all...

But since this is the Family Thread I feel like there's a warming friendship feeling somewhere in the air going on. I agree it's an ego-boost purpose. Is there any other purpose? Maybe showing crazy faces and trying to entertain people, but you, at least, are trying to get a laughter from someone. You are definitely interested in something. The thing is, whenever some of us post a picture here, besides the fact that they want to put a face to their nicknames, it's definitely a "show me" thing! I see nothing wrong with it, only when it's done waaay too much. That's how society found its purpose to post pictures. I'm tired of hearing that ego-boost thing. I'm particularly interested in seeing people and their crazy and cute and maybe even ugly faces on the net. It's quite amusing! to bring the argument down to a simple zorra level - qdrop, just because you think someone is ugly/unnattractive doesn't mean they are. jugding people by their personal appearance is one of the lowest forms of self-gratification. just because a person posts a lot of pictures, gets compliments, and walks away feeling good, doesn't mean you have the right to come in and go "yeah, actually you're ugly"
stick to attacking people's opinions, the things they say, their morals - it's more honorable.
