This is one helova cool guy. Hey, my boss tried to make me kick some skaters out that were skating outside of my building the other night. Instead, I just walked outside and talked to them all. Ended up skatin one of their boards and did a railslide off of one of the benches that's outside. Watched one of them slide the entire length of the handicap rail of the wheelchair ramp of the main entrance too.

I'm gonna have to get a board and skate my work area during my breaks. That whole damn place is some nice skatin grounds.

I mean, not to sound like an old fogey, but when I was young, if we wanted cool stuff, we had to track it down, drive a billion miles to find a skate shop. buy thrift store t-shirts at the thrift store...not urban outfitters. and there were ravers and ugly rap/rock dressing people. everything was so stupid-looking, but at least it wasn't copying.

It's good that there's choice and accessibility these days, but it also means that things don't seem as special. it's like there's no more fun counterculture. everything is available and mainstream. and that's boring.

"Downtown" to me does not necessarily mean the drive or the magnificent mile - Im talking about the whole Chicago area. I know where both the Alley and ragSTOCK are.(I looked it up online and it said whatever I put down on google maps. I wasnt even sure what the name of the store was and had a hard time finding it because no one remembered where it was but I know it was near the Alley/Wrigleyville.)

I've been to the Alley once and didnt buy anything. They've got too much metal/goth rock shit for my taste but I did see a Run DMC tshirt I wanted there, hence the reason for me wanting to go back.

I have had a really big array of styles over the years, but Im not "jumping" into the sex pistols.. I've been into them for a long time. My cousin got me listening to Punk when I was 11 years old but I started off with Anti-Flag, Misfits, Pennywise, etc, and just got into the sex pistols, ramones, iggy, buzzcocks, etc.. a few years ago. I have Nevermind the Bullocks and God save the queen on CD, and I've had them for years, so I dont see how im "jumping into" them, or the punk scene, since punk is pretty much one of the first types of music I remember listening to besides oldies, and 70's/80's rock.

Dont judge me on my age. Im a stupid kid, but im a lot more educated, especially music wise, then most of the little mouth breeders running around today.

I dont catergorize myself as "punk". I hate people who fucking catergorize. haha! i do not make too much money -- i'm a state employee, after all. i'm sure most of the board members make more than i do. i try not to complain, because i LOVE my job.

anyway, the problem is this: the wife of one of my trial partners is the one who normally does my hair. there's a base color, highlights, and then a cut and tip. had she done my hair, it'd have been half that, but i had no idea that i was getting a break. she was out sick for a long time, and i decided it wouldn't be a bad idea to get it done by someone else. wow, was i wrong.

i do love the color, and i'm going to make sure i only go when she's available. thanks to those who liked the color.

This is one helova cool guy. Hey, my boss tried to make me kick some skaters out that were skating outside of my building the other night. Instead, I just walked outside and talked to them all. Ended up skatin one of their boards and did a railslide off of one of the benches that's outside. Watched one of them slide the entire length of the handicap rail of the wheelchair ramp of the main entrance too.

I'm gonna have to get a board and skate my work area during my breaks. That whole damn place is some nice skatin grounds.
